If true, could it be as simple as the Grealish £100m rolling out of the calculation?

Rashford Is a strange one. I’m not sure if Man Utd have tried to force him out because they’re broke and then things have broken down further as he’s frozen out and stuck there. Or if he’s really just a toxic presence.

He’s not a good enough player to take the risk though so hopefully it’s just bullshit.

I’d just got round to watching the Felix highlights reel and belatedly thought he’d be a good signing so obviously he’s now going elsewhere.

Where has this only loans thing come from?

Law reporting it- story on previous page

Referring to Asensio and Felix specifically. Not for every footballer on the planet.

Did i say it was for every player on the planet? Or was that just you?

The story says we are focusing mainly on loans rashford asensio and felix? Did you see anywhere in that story where law says we are looking at permanent  signings?

What you've done here, is you've taken this paragraph:

Quote
Asensio, 29, is one of Villa manager Unai Emery’s top choices for a loan and is available over the final three days of the window, while Félix is among the players Chelsea would consider for departure. It is believed that Villa are only looking at loans at this stage, rather than permanent deals.

Saying that we'd only be looking to sign Asensio or Joao Felix on loan at this stage, and always keen for an opportunity to wet your knickers you've extrapolated that being being the case for those two players into "only loans coming in".

It is perfectly possible that we do only sign players on loan between now and the end of Monday. But the article you've posted isn't saying that we will.

I would take Rashford on a loan deal.

If Man Utd pay most of his wages.

It’s late in the window and I’d be surprised if we have another striker lined up.

We need another and Rashford obviously needs a change of scenery. It could work. It could easily be a waste of time. But going into the back half of the season with one striker is a risk.

Its a win for them if we take him on loan, they get rid of a player causing them trouble, if Emery can get him playing good football again his price goes up in the summer.

I couldn’t care much about what it does for Man Utd. We need a forward and if he’s available on the right deal, and he actually works hard it may benefit us. That’s all I care about 👍

I want a permanent centre half signing who can push the other centre halves, and allows us to play Konsa at right back, for certain games.

Then loan in another attacker, I’d be happy with Ascensio, Felix and even Rashford if we are only picking up a small portion of their wages.

We’ve sent Swinkels, Gauci, Barry and possibly Ned out on loan cos Unai doesn’t think they are good enough for us atm.

I’d like us to bring back Illing-Jnr and Enzo, they are playing regular football in a good league, must be better than sticking a 3rd choice keeper on the bench, but then I’ve no idea if we do have a recall on their loans.

We certainly need a centre half but why would we ever want Konsa at right back. He’s an outstanding centre half and should be no where near right back.

Hopefully Liverpool win today and then Man City slap Arsenal about tomorrow then ‘title challengers’ goes away at 9 points behind.  Continually tell them to F**k off for Ollie…let them fester pretending Havertz is a striker till the summer

I read somewhere the other day that our wage bill is now nearly 100 percent of revenue.  I think this is the real issue in getting some of these deals across the line.  Rashford will end up at Arsenal in my view.

I just can't see where Rashford would fit in. If we played a front three,  it would mean a midfield three and who do you leave out?

I think he'd play on the left side, where JJ is playing currently.

I think Rashford would be the 65 minute power play sub that was Durans job.

Maybe Bosco noticed where Konsa played in all our outstanding defensive performances over the last season-and-a-half. Just a hunch.

I too want a centre-half to allow Konsa to move to right-back in certain games. As can be seen by simply watching our games and remembering what happened in them, Konsa/Pau is pretty porous central defensive partnership. Not as good as Konsa/Mings from 22/23, or Carlos/Pau from the last season and a half. If we want Pau in, he needs a better partner.

Our wage bill was 96% of our turnover in 23/24. Our turnover has risen massively this season, hopefully by a fair bit more than our wage bill.
