Thanks for the info.  Sounds like we're hoping for Felix then.

Think prioritises for the rest of the window are.

1.  Keep Ollie
2.  Get a CB (on loan if the right one isnt available)
3.  Get a Forward (on loan if the right one isnt available)

We cant afford to waste the Duran money - so if the right players arent available lets get a body or 2 in till the end of the season and hope for some luck

I definitely get where you're coming from, but I'd say go for it and take a risk.  We need to re-qualify for Europe to keep some of our better players.  Maybe, just maybe, with another dimension (Felix?) we could go on a run and do something really special this season.

So despite the fact we finished above Man City they have earnt more from the Champions League than us.

Because the Money they, and other PL club get for taking part if much bigger than ours due a "value" pillar.  Literally everywhere you look you see the game is just fucked.

I feel sorry for Unai - the amount of shit he has to put up with and work around just to overcome rules set up to protect various vested interests.

I've asked Keiran Mcguire to explain this on twitter. Its just money for big team, ring-fencing and completly anti-competitive.

There were quotes yesterday saying that two of our targets were financial issues, one the asking price and one the wages. Who do we think that applies to? I'm sure I saw people say Felix wouldn't cost as much as Chelsea paid for him, but his wages are probably high. So who's the expensive price player?

Felix is the expensive price, Asensio expensive wages.

I have no idea who Asensio is, and he earns >£15m a year.  Nice.

No, Paris.

Make your mind up. One minute you're saying you like Elswhere, next you want Cunha.

Is Asensio any good?
He played over 100 games for Real Madrid and was certainly good for them. Don’t know about his time at PSG

And three champions league medals…

It has to be Felix surely or he's destined to become Benni McCarthy. There's no resale value on Asensio if he goes to shit.

Who would people (who know more than me) prefer?

Definitely Felix. He's still only 25 and has an incredibly high ceiling, if Unai can get a tune out of him he'd be incredible. Asensio would be more of a Coutinho style signing, scored a few bangers for Madrid but possibly now past his best.

If you told me three years a go we would be discussing which of Felix of Asensio we would prefer I would have said you were in cloud cuckoo land

One or the other I reckon. Both would be amazing. Rogers, Assensio and Felix in behind Ollie with Onana and Kamara, McGinn, JJ etc also involved. Could Felix and Assensio play in the same team?

We won't get both, I don't think we could fit them in the Champions League squad updates even if we could afford them.

JJ will be more than 'involved'.

What is all this about Konsa being wanted by Liverpool for £41m?  Any legs.  Literally I am very far behind stuff this week.
