Considering Duran has been here 2 years, his fee was small to start with, practically all of his sale will be profit. Probably enough to spend a decent amount, but not all on Cunha. He's worth more than that to Wolves though

Why not all? As you say, Duran fee is virtually all profit, landing in the accounts this year. Whatever we spend on Cunha is spread over the length of his contract.

Monchi: Unai loves Felix, we almost got him last window, and he loves Asensio too, they want both but one is difficult because of fee, the other wages.

I think that "Malen is Duran's replacement, not Bailey's competition" is underpriced.

….

Agree on this. He was one of the hottest things in Europe playing in a front two - then Dortmund played him out wide. Seems like he never quite fit into their system.

Another one where Emery values flexibility, I guess.

We are really going to have to get a move on whatever we’re doing. We’re short a centre back and a forward.

Trouble is I think they are waiting for Duran to be signed and sealed gone before hitting go on things. But that's basically causing us to go into the Wolves game with one centre back and very few options from the bench.

I feel quite sorry for Unai at the moment. I think FFP has massively screwed him being able to get his top targets, so he's worked miracles with essentially Gerrard's side plus Rogers and Youri, but he needs more of his own targets. If he thinks Felix is the missing but, just get him and trust him.

Everyone we mention seems to fade

So despite the fact we finished above Man City they have earnt more from the Champions League than us.

Because the Money they, and other PL club get for taking part if much bigger than ours due a "value" pillar.  Literally everywhere you look you see the game is just fucked.

I feel sorry for Unai - the amount of shit he has to put up with and work around just to overcome rules set up to protect various vested interests.

^^ On the plus side, we earned over €18m this week, they earned €4.9m.

Not to mention big gate receipts and €77m for Duran.

I think the lack of apparent progress on Disasi is a big indicator we’re in for Felix. But we cannot sleep on this, we need a quality forward and defender.

You would hope that the situation with Duran and the ability to spend may have led to revisiting the defensive targets list…they will also have the latest statuses on Torres / Mings and Cash injuries.  Guess it’s quite possible that Disasi isn’t the only defensive loan/permant player we are looking at?

There were quotes yesterday saying that two of our targets were financial issues, one the asking price and one the wages. Who do we think that applies to? I'm sure I saw people say Felix wouldn't cost as much as Chelsea paid for him, but his wages are probably high. So who's the expensive price player?

Think it’s the other was around.  Felix is price and Asensio is wages as he’s on 295k a week
