Id be thrilled with either cunha or boniface as his replacement

I don't have a problem with him going to Saudi, and we'll probably get more than we would have from another team. However, I'd really hope we have deals lined up waiting to be confirmed, because there's only a few days left, and 60mil, while nice to have in the bank, can't play football for us.

Anyone know anyone who thinks we should sign Boniface?

Last minute trolley dash with the Duran money and I guess Buendia's wages too. Cash's injury leaves us in no man's land again at right back. Still Carlos to replace at centre back.

Grealish and Luiz are both out of favour with their current clubs - two no brainer signings. Tammy Abraham not having much joy in Milan, might be happier on our bench. RB - Walker-Peters and Lamptey are running down their contracts, think Emery would prefer a stronger defender there.

I don't think we would go for any established striker like Boniface. You're left with the Watkins, Duran scenario again. I think it will be a youngster Emery could mould in time.

Time is against us but find another player on Kamara’s level with the Duran money and we’ll be in fine shape.

We have that Garcia chap for RB, assuming he has been bought to be played and not "Ned'd". But no to Grealish, not on the money he is on and his diving against us.

Would all be long forgotten if he did the business on the pitch again. Would have to fight for his place, get a lot fitter so think it would suit him and us.

Duran going might also explain the delay in bringing people in. Who can we nick off bournemouth and forest?

Agreed. We seem to be in a constant state of emergency with our transfer dealings. Surely if it was obvious  Duran was leaving it should have been done as a prority early in the window. We are now at the mercy of any club we deal with unless Uni thinks that Malen will be the 2nd striker. Personally I would spend all the money in defense.

There’s still noise around Ollie around - I assume the club is not remotely entertaining the possibility of selling him too. That would be one of the dumbest possible things imaginable.

We always seem to leave ourselves a bit short as well.  As it stands tonight, right-back is still far from convincing, we are at least 1 centre-back short (possibly two if Torres and Mings are going to be long-term), we need another right-winger as Malen didn't look at all comfortable there against West Ham and a centre-forward if Duran is going.

I understand and fully appreciate that we may be working under tight financial constraints, but the quality of players we bring in don't really seem to improve the starting XI massively.

Assuming Duran goes, we'll have lost Carlos, Buendia, Duran and Philogene from our CL squad - though I think Philogene counts as homegrown.

I believe we can make 3 changes to the CL squad, presumably that would have to be Malen, Disasi (or new defender) and a replacement for Duran (Felix?)

Which would mean no place for Garcia.  If Nedeljkovic goes out on loan, we'd therefore have no good right-back alternative to Cash.  Diasi and Konsa *can* play there, but it's far from ideal.

If Duran goes, we’re hampered on spending the money a bit by only being able to add three players to our CL squad. We probably won’t register Garcia, maybe that would depend on Cash’s injury. If we want three more additions we’d have to consider not registering Malen, which would be hard on him but needs must.

I’d keep Ollie come what may and buy Cunha, Dougie and a CB/RB who for a few weeks could partner Konsa in central defence. There are plenty of right-footed centre-backs who play on the left side of a central defensive partnership.
