If we do sign anyone else - I would really like it to be someone thats good.  This approach of selling are best players and then buying ones that arent as good hasnt done us any favours.

Three years in the Championship proves that point.

I think Malen will be the Ollie backup until end of the season when we will go after a striker.

If Emery can get Felix then he has options wide right with Rogers and Ramsey if Bailey isn't doing it. Wide left Maatsen should be seen as a viable option in my option.

Defence worries me more. Still think we need 2 at the back. Wouldn't mind Danso that Wolves are in for.

If we were to sell Duran and buy a prospect from an already relegated team, I’d be hugely deflated.  The only acceptable reason to selling Duran is if we are bringing in a genuinely brilliant player who can play at the same time as our other genuinely great players (so long as they are still at Villa tomorrow).

The homegrown/ English factor is still a thing for European competition.

So I wouldn’t be totally stunned if we went for someone like Delap or one of the other England U21 forward options in the summer.

If / when Duran goes I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Bade thing resurrected…little bit more on the offer might see Seville start to encourage him out of the door.

At very least might change which list we are looking for our defenders from & maybe look different to a loan for Disasi…think a lot depends on when Torres / Mings and now Cash are likely to be back and fit

Like the loans out for Barry & Gauci…two good size clubs to send them to

I think it's the very reason why we haven't completed our final 2/3 signing. Having an additional £70m to play with probably opens up more options.

Bringing him back wouldn't be a bad move

Looking at transfermarkt the Saudi window closes tomorrow so ‘if’ Duran is going there we will have 3 days additionally to recruit knowing the money is in the bank

With David Platt, you always felt we were a stepping stone in his mind. I wasn't that upset when he left.

It's also a bit different to when Jack left.  As we were a mid-table side back then.  Now we're in the Champions League, and have realistic ambitions of qualifying for it again.  That makes the profile of player we'll use the money to sign a little bit different.

Are you sure he counts? To be "association trained" you need to be in that system for 36 months between the ages of 15 and 21, and he moved from Chelsea to Juventus when he was 17.

If Duran does go I'd love us to get Luiz back this window
