Did we sign that Turkish kid in the end? I never saw any confirmation of a deal.

Looking around we've been about to sign him every tomorrow for the past two weeks.

Barcelona may allow Andreas Christensen to leave, would be a decent buy at the right money (Didn’t he go there on a free?)

I'm all in on just getting them off the books when you can and waiting on the right deal for the replacement in the age of PSR. No one would've paid 15m for Danny Ings that summer and that's a decent fee for a hardly standout Carlos who's the wrong side of 30.

Selling is just as important as buying now. Ref: Man United. Having said that, last time we had 3 centre halves it nearly cost us promotion, whilst Spurs are currently paying the price for the same poor planning (it's not bad luck If you're undermanned, media). If we can't get a top quality centre half in, I'd be looking for another Jan Bednarek type gap filler until the summer. Don't waste money on shite.

Gets injured a lot but is a good player. Good competition for Konsa and tidy on the ball. If it's a brute we are looking for to partner Torres, it's not him.

If Buendia is off then I am starting to get a bit concerned about the incoming / outgoing balance. We seem to do “one for the future” deals but not a lot of “ready to play now”.

Will see what happens this week but were we not to be bringing in an experienced CB to replace Carlos then that would be absolutely insane and you’d have to ask WTF Monchi is doing if he’s managed to get us into that situation.

Malen is pretty big 'right now' signing.

Romano

Aston Villa are in talks to sign new defender and Juan Foyth is one of the main targets, after Badé deal off.

Initial proposal already sent to Villarreal as Unai Emery knows the player well, as @javimatagil reports.

Deal on.

For La Liga observers, what do you reckon to Foyth? His name was mentioned some pages back, can't remember but the consensus didn't seem great.

Wasn't he at Leicester when they won the league?

Did he have a spell at Spurs or someone of a similar name?

EDIT - Yes 16 appearances in 4 years there. A 6ft 2 right back.

Positive.. Emery knows him well.

Negative, injury prone, poor at spurs, mainly a right back lol

Nope. He'd be better than not replacing Carlos at all, but it certainly wouldn't be upgrading our defence to where we wanted it to be.

Six month loan and we bring in the next Saliba / Van Dijk in the summer = not ideal, but fine.

Foyth on a four-year deal and our options next season are Konsa / Foyth / Mings / Pau = definitely not fine.
