Id be worried if any of these guys were Villa's marquee jan signing. rememeber remember djemba djemba a wise old villa fan once told me.
manioo is the eptiome of an over hyped english player. He had the much maligned casimiro babysitting him in midfield for all of last season the first time they put him on his own was crystal palace who smashed them 4-0. All the goals coming straight down the middle where koby was meant to be patroling. (Even the Villa game last season the red sea parted time and time again in front of the D)But the papers had already locked in his england place for the euros this didn't stop southgate pining for kalvin philips when his weakenss were exposed. he's got a good touch but he's about 250 games away from being as good as the hype for a DM
Garnacho's main strength is running down blind alleys, seems to be dining out on the wonder goal at everton the other year. Even his slow motion cross on sunday must have bobbled about 6 times before it rolled into amad. no wonder van dyke was going nuts.
Hoyland looks totally out of his depth in the prem, not quick enough, not strong enough, can't finish.
These guys have everton west ham and fulham written all over them

Aston Villa have enquired about the loan signing of PSG centre-back Milan Škriniar.
@lequipe

Why would they consider this? Has he not been getting into their team?

I do like Garnacho though, the last couple of times we played them at home he felt like a proper threat and it was largely him doing us damage in last season's instalment of Boxing Day misery.

He has dropped off that form since , hence he is surplus to requirements

I know, but he's still very young and they are a circus.

No, only started three games this season and only one in the last two months.

If he can play on the right, he might be the kind of option we need in the squad who can carry the ball up the pitch at pace without turning back.  That's what we are really missing at the moment.

He's not a DM though, a bit like Luiz, people see him play and think he could be a good DM but all his best performances are playing far more like a box-to-box midfielder. One of the biggest problems in the game right now (and especially in England) is that proper DMs are very rare, Kamara is one of only about 4-5 of them in the league right now.

Garnacho would probably cost almost as much as Mbeumo would. Id rather wait and explore that deal in the summer than garnacho of its possible. Plan B Garnacho i wouldnt turn my nose up though

I always felt that in this country we think of DM's essentially as centre halves that can trap a ball, whereas on the continent it's about technique and awareness.

LeeB, just had Wes on the phone, he tells that as you told him to F... OFF, he is not going to buy any players in this transfer window.

This just proves that the owners etc.. read our comments.

Aside from the high wages, the other problem of signing United players is they often feel that basically anywhere else is a step down and that we would be beneath them.

Part of the reason why United struggle to sell players is because often they enjoy identifying as a Man United player too much.

Yes, they probably get more advertising potential there then they would here.

Oh, does he buy players out of the goodness of his 'eart, does he? Or does the club by them with their income? Because one is allowed and the other isn't, if you'd not noticed.

I bet you were one of those twats years ago defending Ellis with the same kind of shite.

This is a business, they own it, and any money invested is with one eye on the value when they cash out. It's not some charitable donation.

Nice to see the powers that be are finally taking my suggestions on board. I’d quote it but don’t know how to do two in the same post but I’m sure you all believe me!!

As a dominant centre half on the right what about Milan Skriniar, not getting a look in at PSG

OUR club is now worth significantly more than the owners have put in and the only people benefitting from that, are them. They are investing, we're paying.

If it wasnt for wes and nassef we would  likely be in league one or worse. Lets not kid ourselves whether you agree with their recent actions  or not they saved this club from going under
