Man U still have a massive and expensively assembled squad.   The players are good enough but the club’s core is rotten, consequently they can raise their game for the odd cup match but cannot stomach the day-to-day grind of the league.  Arsenal were similar a few years ago when they won a few FA Cups despite consistently missing top 4.

The red half of Manchester keen to become a selling club:

Who do you like?
I suspect they're all on prohibitively high wages, and as of such we shouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

That said, I think Mainoo and Garnacho are both very decent players, and if the opportunity did come along to buy them and they weren't asking for silly money, I'd take it.

The trouble with buying any of the players from Manure is the stupid wages they will be on. But I would take Garnacho and even Mainoo to bulk our squad out if we could afford them.

I like Garnacho too, he’s a very good player, as is Mainoo. Sancho has looked much better since he’s left.

Mainoo is apparently only on something like Ł20k a week.

I can't help but get Adnan Januzaj vibes from Garnacho.

Mainoo's clearly the more gifted I think, he's had a very rough season but a teenager playing in a hopelessly exposed midfield in the Premier League really deserves a bit of slack.

I do like Garnacho though, the last couple of times we played them at home he felt like a proper threat and it was largely him doing us damage in last season's instalment of Boxing Day misery.

He's a proper player, that would be a good move.

Would be a sign that Carlos is off.

Aside from the high wages, the other problem of signing United players is they often feel that basically anywhere else is a step down and that we would be beneath them.

Part of the reason why United struggle to sell players is because often they enjoy identifying as a Man United player too much.

Malen in and Skriniar on loan would be a smashing window. Add a right-back as is rumoured and we're looking very strong for the second half of the season.

He has dropped off that form since , hence he is surplus to requirements
