When it comes to Martinez, I'd assume it could all hinge on how we finish the season. If we go out of CL at the first knockout stage, and don't finish in CL spots for next season, he may well be tempted by offers, if they come, from a team like Chelsea. They're competing for the league now, and will at the very least be in the CL next season. Who knows how stable they are, and there's no guarantee they won't go to shit again, but I could see how they'd be appealing to a keeper of all positions.
Yeah I could see this hopefully we finish the season strongly and get a top 5 finish.  I don’t think he’s in a rush to leave but could be an option depending on where we are.  This FFP bollocks isn’t helping us with things like this as we could have firmed up our position with a couple of class signings

Leeds would be a good loan for Buendia. He needs games to get back to being the player he was, might work well for Villa, him and Leeds.

Martinez wouldn't go I don't think. He's intertwined with everything we want to achieve and I think he'll stick it out and try and win a trophy here rather than leave.

Barry and Buendia to Leeds then? Interesting...

Unless it has a guaranteed fee in the summer involved, fuck that.

Have we got room in the squad to strengthen without letting people go?

Room people or financial headroom under the current rule?
Either way I think we have one spare place for a player valued about £40m (no sums involved) and after that I think a one in, one out policy is needed.  That applies to loans too.

I was thinking more about the 25-man limit.

Who really knows about the financial headroom? One thing we do know is that, if we wanted to gamble, we have the safety net of being able to sell before June 30th.

The problem with that is when other clubs know you need to sell.

Yeah, it’s not THAT safe.

It won’t happen but I think Cunha would be a really good player for us.

I would be ok trading him in for duran if a silly money offer comes in for him

He's talented, in a very average team, but he certainly likes having a good old moan and I don't think he has the workrate that Emery looks for.
