🚨🇫🇷 At this time of Deadline Day, Aston Villa have stopped talks for Disasi, considering different options.

Disasi agreed terms with Villa last week but Chelsea still request higher fee due to direct UCL competition.

❗️ Chelsea accepted Spurs bid for Disasi, up to the player.

I’ll be honest I think that position from Chelsea is fine - although not sure I see us as direct competition at the moment.

From an unreliable source

On Thursday, Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg stated Brighton & Hove Albion are in pole position to sign 1. FC Nürnberg’s Stefanos Tzimas despite Aston Villa holding concrete talks.

Last summer, he joined FC Nürnberg on loan with an option to buy from PAOK. The German club will now make his stay permanent and then sell him to Brighton.

Unai Emery’s side offered €30m to buy the Greece U21 international immediately in this window, according to the claims. This wasn’t favoured by Tzimas and Nürnberg as they want to continue together until the end of this season.

Brighton have ‘prevailed’ because they have decided to let the player finish this season in Germany.

TMW state they have ‘closed the deal’ by offering the same figures as Fiorentina [€22-23m] plus 15% of a future sale. It’s worth noting Sky earlier reported Brighton agreed to pay €25m.

We might be if we had a defence!

Romano saying we've stopped talks with Chelsea on Disasi. Hopefully we have another option!

As he can’t play 2 of the next 3 or any future FA Cup games I’d hope we were always looking at other options.

I’d take Maguire at this point. I don’t even know if that’s a joke yet. Ask me at 11pm.

You must be tired and delirious from being on nights?

Must be. Just went a bit mad while watching MOTD2 this morning and remembering he plays left & right occasionally.

Although we wouldn't be able to loan him. So I think one of the very few situations I actually think *would* be worse than nobody is "Maguire on a permanent transfer".

It's fine if they told us weeks ago, in which case we should surely have moved on by now. If they've delayed telling us until the last minute to fuck us over, then they're shitebags. And we'd have to be incredibly gullible to fall for it and not have a plan B up our sleeve. We will see by 11pm, I suppose.

Well, yes. Even if we do bring in a central defender, it's arguably two weeks too late and our delaying has probably cost us points against West Ham and Wolves.

Given that the Turkish transfer window doesn't shut until a week tomorrow, there was no need whatsoever to leave ourselves in such a precarious position.

I concur.

The Turkish team (can't even remember where Carlos went) would have us over a barrel if they knew we'd signed Disasi and were desperate to get Carlos off the books so they had to push the button somewhere. It also sounds like Carlos had packed up and said his goodbyes so I'm not sure any games he would have played would have been particularly reliable in the meantime.

It will all sort itself out by the end of the day.

I suspect he has always been the disaster recovery plan
