If that is true, letting Carlos Diego go appears, er, brave.

I think Bernard used to say that to Jim Hacker

“That’s a very brave decision Prime Minister”

Reckon Mings will be OK for Spurs game which must be a factor.

But that doesn't replace Diego Carlos' position in the squad.

Not getting a centre back in just seems mental. We’ve seen how problematic metatarsal injuries can be so can’t rely on Torres and expecting Mings to play every week given his history seems mental. Even expecting Konsa to is foolhardy and offers no alternative for loss of form or injury.

If we're "relaxed" about our defensive options, it must mean Mings is ready to return this week and Pau is possibly ahead of schedule (they said 2 months, which would be the end of Feb, so maybe he'll be back by mid-feb? Which might mean he'll be back for Chelsea and only miss two more games?)

I feel very nervous about our defensive options though, as I really don't want to see Kamara back at centre-half again.

Given that Konsa is looking a bit leggy as things stand and appears to be in need of a break, expecting him to play every minute for the rest of the season seems unnecessarily brave, whatever the prognosis is on Pau and Mings.

Of course we’re relaxed, have you not seen how good we’ve been defensively this season?

I don’t see how we can possibly be relaxed about it-  it was idiotic to risk two fit centre-halves a week ago, to try and go the rest of the season with 3 (2 of which are currently injured) is utterly negligent.

I don't think we should read too much into what the club is saying about relaxed. They can't exactly sound the panic alarm, it would just put prices up and lead to us accepting a bad deal.

I am certain they will be trying hard to get a centre back in.

I do wonder now we have Rashford in if we would entertain a large bid for Watkins off Arsenal with a defender coming the other way. Whilst I don't think it will happen, it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

If Baily goes I think Felix will come in, but not otherwise.

Could we make an offer for Guehi at Palace? Out of contract in the summer so has to be possible.

Spurs are not signing Disasi according to the Guardian about 20 minutes ago, so maybe that's the green light for us.

Maybe “relaxed” is a ploy to show that we won’t be held to ransom

To be honest, I think it is sincerely mental.

Well fuck, everywhere I read that rule they'd not included that line. That makes things more difficult, looks like we're going to have a lot of kids on the bench in the champions league games.

We're just going to try and win every game 5-4.

Especially when Torres is a metatarsal which aren't always simple fixes, Mings is fragile after a cruciate, Konsa is our only right sided centre back, and Cash is also injured at right back. Not getting a centre half just seems negligent.

This is also true.
