Also someone has to make the first move and let players leave or the whole thing breaks down.

I think it's pretty clear that we expected Bade to join and let Carlos go on that basis. Him getting cold feet and pulling out of the transfer was unexpected and then was immediately made worse by the Mings injury.

We'll probably go back to Foyth.

I suspect he has always been the disaster recovery plan

Might explain why Nedjelkovic has been allowed out, leaving us with only one fit right back. Given Foyth plays both CB and RB.

Foyths War was good but what has he done since?

Well, yes. Even if we do bring in a central defender, it's arguably two weeks too late and our delaying has probably cost us points against West Ham and Wolves.

Given that the Turkish transfer window doesn't shut until a week tomorrow, there was no need whatsoever to leave ourselves in such a precarious position.

I concur.

The Turkish team (can't even remember where Carlos went) would have us over a barrel if they knew we'd signed Disasi and were desperate to get Carlos off the books so they had to push the button somewhere. It also sounds like Carlos had packed up and said his goodbyes so I'm not sure any games he would have played would have been particularly reliable in the meantime.

It will all sort itself out by the end of the day.

From memory, I cant mind anything he did to suggest he was anything but a model pro so the risk of him 'downing tools' was a remote one I'd guess?  If he wanted to go, fine. He could, just as soon as we had a replacement or at the end of the month, or the end of the season. Whatever suited us.

Anyroad, it does my brain in when people labour the point so here we are.

And: Fenerbache BTW

We have two right backs. Cash isn't out for long and we shouldn't be buying another one to cover a short spell out, it would be a complete waste of money.

Not advocating the move, just trying to read the tea leaves.

Unreliable rumours that if they won’t loan him to us we are testing them with a £50m bid.  Disasi that is.  Can’t see it myself

Chelsea haven't shifted Felix or Disasi yet.  If PSR is an issue then they might have to change their position soon just to get the costs off the books.

Depends on how many hotels or chicken shops they have to sell.

We currently have one fit centre back, two left backs & a right back from the Spanish 2nd division. I understand why we don't want to commit to any permanent deal but we've got to get someone in.

If they loan out Chilwell to Palace which is looking likely they cannot loan Disasi to us as they’ll be up to five.  Apparently.

The last time the defence was so neglected was under Bruce and he got pelters for it.

I know they seem to get top fees for players that are surplus to their requirements but £50m, there’s got to be a whole raft of centre halves that we could get if we’re looking to spend that much. I just can’t see that.
