Tielemans, Digne, Ollie all excellent. Bogarde did very well as did Barkley.

After that I think everyone else has another level to go up. Rogers was frustrating because he nearly had a great game but the last bit just didn't happen for him.

Yep pretty fine summary. I'd also add McGinn in the excellent category. Considering how random his passing was even three years into being a premier league player his overall play on the ball has improved immeasurably under Emery compared to the chancer previously.

It's a nice problem to have but I'd like to see Maatsen in from the start sooner or later. Digne is doing well but sometimes when we get our passing triangles going we need that additional threat of a fullback with incredible pace on the overlap and Digne just can't provide it.

Maatsen did second half with the run and then cutback which Ollie hit wide. Perhaps given his run with Dortmund we'll see him starting the CL matches while Digne continues in the prem for the time being.

DCL is a decent player really. When they missed out on Duran, West Ham would have been much better going for Calvert Lewin than that German bloke they brought in.
Problem is Calvert Lewin never seems to strng more than 5 or 6 games together without getting injured fir 4 or 5.

For me the biggest problem he has is that he's a good footballer who looks like he should be a good striker but he just isn't, he's awful 1on1, he's slow to find space on the box has no natural instinct you want in a striker. He's Heskey MK2 and I'm sure he has just as many people saying how tough he is playing against or how good he is at bringing teammates into play but he's just not a goalscorer.

Digne has been excellent this season and has two assists already, he's really not just keeping the left back slot warm for Maatsen.

Assuming they stay injury free they'll both start plenty of games.

The result is all important but we are not quite clicking yet. Torres was very poor today with the ball and defensively. Tielemans man of the match for me. We missed Bailey as neither Ramsey of SJM are going to get past there markers out wide.
This is a new team and I am sure UE will get it worked out, 3 points and move on.

Agree both good players with different abilities.
Wish our RB situation was as strong.

Don't agree with that part at all. On the ball he did very little wrong. We didn't have the movement we normally do I thought, partly because McGinn was on the wing and partly because, for at least a long part of the first half, Rogers and Ramsey were too central and not stretching Everton.

Defensively though I fully agree. However if Torres had his passing range and was as good defensively as Mings, he would have probably been out of our price range.

He delayed playing the ball too much, also didn’t commit to the space in front of him with the ball, I don’t remember 1 good offensive pass but he did make a number of passes direct to them.
Part of it was lack of availability as Everton were do8ng a pretty good saturation job.
Agree there was a lack of movement particularly in the 1st half.

Very good summary and so true about Rogers. It was very close to being brilliant but his final deliveries were not quite there. It will come though, that’s for sure.

Considering Bogarde is a centre back he settled in very well today.

It was a bit of a weird match all-round. Having 80+ percent possession but going two down to a dreadful side, then clawing back to 2-2 and an absolute world class goal to win it.

Can't really draw too many conclusions from a match as nuts as that, but we won, again.

One of the best goals I’ve ever seen at the Red and White Betano Bowl.

Name a better struck shot than Duran’s goal. Don’t say Savo, Jhon’s is better.

I know I got the best view of both goals!

Haven't read the thread but who was Emery going absolutely spare at during the 2nd half? It looked aimed at Tielemans however I'm not sure. I came back in the room and the boss had lost his nut.

I thought Barkley made a difference as well in the second half.
