I remember losing down there early in the season under O'Leary (we'd just signed Bouma) and making Marlon Fucking Harewood look like Adriano in PES 6* in a 4-0 drubbing.

This must have also been the one game Martin O'Neill watched Harewood play in.

*Niche reference but if you know, you know.
I was at that game , Monday night . Horrendous . Then walked back to the etap hotel on the North circular where i spent a sleepless night

Can't blame them if they're being gouged but they make me laugh. They're all excited about the new manager and he's going to get them back to playing "the West Ham way". Moyes might have been old school but they won a bloody European trophy under him, having qualified for European football under him. Whats the "West Ham way " if its not being successful?

Was speaking to a west ham fan yesterday.  Its incredible got them a trophy and they absolutely hated moyes. Was saying style of football is more important and moyes football was like poking coals in your eyes he was saying.

I  think id prefer the trophy 😂

When you have won the World Cup, what can compare?

Jermaine Defoe was rumoured to be signing. I was convinced he was coming as my mate who lived next door to one of the nurses who was involved with his medical said he was signing, she wasn’t a football fan clearly  as she couldn’t tell her Harewoods from her Defoes.

But as i have reported previously my Everton ST supporting mate says

1) He is not very good in the air for someone who is 6'5"
2) When he does head it its like his head is a 50p piece as it goes everywhere

He says what we will like is his telescopic legs that seem to come out of nowhere to retrieve the ball and surprisingly his extensive passing range, especially out to either flank

My Everton-supporting best mate says he's great in the air. I guess it's the same with us, take two fans and you'll get two different opinions. The stats seem to back up that he's good in the air though.

Stats wise, he’s great in the air. What I recall from the many podcasts I listen to is that he’s in one of those ridiculously high percentiles for winning aerial duels.

I think Onana might be the only new player starter tomorrow

Alan Shearer , Chris Sutton, Jamie Carragher all have predicted West Ham 1-1 Aston Villa . Merson also thinks a draw.

Alan Shearer:
It'll be a tight game this one. West Ham have made some exciting signings, but so have Aston Villa. It may take time for some of those to really gel together for both sides, so I am happy to go with a score draw.

It’s not great that we’re going into the first game of the season with both striking options barely having played over the summer.

1-1 draw and I’d snap your hand off for that right now.
