we need to start chanelling the vibes from opening day Arsenal 1-3 Villa the Tony Moon game . Maybe Ned can do something like it , he has the pace

That game was, coincidentally, also on Saturday August 17th.

Tony Moon… shudder.  Fuck me we were shite back then.  Let’s not channel any of those (awful) vibes.  One goal aside he was as abysmal as most of that squad.

We've only lost in London once under Emery, though it was our most recent (competitive) game.

It wasn’t particularly close either if I remember rightly

I think competitive is being used quite loosely there.

Technically competitive, in that it wasn't a friendly. Less than combative, it would be fair to say.

I remember losing down there early in the season under O'Leary (we'd just signed Bouma) and making Marlon Fucking Harewood look like Adriano in PES 6* in a 4-0 drubbing.

This must have also been the one game Martin O'Neill watched Harewood play in.

*Niche reference but if you know, you know.

looking forward to seeing the Villa play again, but dread this fixture due to loads of West Ham fans in  our village.

I shall watch the game in the local pub hoping with 5 mins to go we are 6 up so I can relax abit :)

I seem to remember O'Neill mentioning that game, so you're probably right. I just remember feeling hugely underwhelmed. Be a bit like signing Maupay now.

Absolute comedy signing really, we're all sitting there hoping for the likes of Falcao and we end up with him. Who did we 'gazump' again to get him? Wigan?

I thought it couldn't get any worse after that, but Martin O'Neill gave it the "hold my beer" routine and signed Emile Fucking Heskey. Have we had two players with the same middle name before?

They both had 50 pence pieces where normal people have feet too.

Fans and the board of west ham are not in a good place apparently due to ticket prices. Could be spicy

Can't blame them if they're being gouged but they make me laugh. They're all excited about the new manager and he's going to get them back to playing "the West Ham way". Moyes might have been old school but they won a bloody European trophy under him, having qualified for European football under him. Whats the "West Ham way " if its not being successful?
