Assuming no new signings before Wham, what's your 11?

Emi

Cash
Konsa
Pau
Digne

McGinn
Onana
Youri

Rogers
Ramsey
Watkins

And if we hadn't sold Luiz he'd be in there for Onana/Youri so possibly no new signings in our current strongest 11, in my opinion. Need a couple of belters to go straight in to the first team, like Felix.

I forgot Bailey! Good job I'm not the manager.

Emery has been giving JJ lots of minutes so I think this might be the team, given JJ might help out more defensively than Bailey and Leon can be a game changer from the bench, like Arsenal away last season.
A few new signings for them and new manager bounce, so tough game.
However, I’m inflicted with pre-season optimism. 2-1 us (Watkins, Rogers).

Hate playing this lot, and they seem to have done some good business this summer. We never seem to burst out of the traps, so will be happy with a draw here.

I was reading that a couple of teams with new managers are trying to adopt the play it out from the back stuff that Emery has us doing, and it hasn't been going well for some of them in preseason. Chelsea was one, and I think West Ham was another. They could have an us at Newcastle kind of opening day, if we're lucky.

After yesterday I wouldn’t fancy Onana and Tielemans in central midfield. We seemed to be struggling keeping possession.

Think we need to start getting our excuses ready:
We have new players so need a couple of seasons to get them to gel
Watkins not up to speed as played 60 minutes for England so is still knackered
By November it’ll be, we’re totally worn out having to also play in the CL
Play the kids and get knocked out straight away in the domestic cups because CL has to be our priority, ditto as we are prioritising trying to get top 4 again
Don’t get too down about losing to the Irons and the Arse as there’s still plenty of matches to get it right
No, we didn’t do well over the Xmas period as we had to play so many matches in such a short space of time(conveniently forgetting that all the other teams had the same number of matches)
I suppose that’ll do for starters but, please join in if you wish!!

Will Duran do the Irons sign thing when he scores or when they score?

With the alternative being Barkley i'd stick with the Belgians

We were much better second half! Early days but struggling to see Onana’s attributes other than a good engine!

Look forward to Unai showing me!

Quite impressed with WHU transfer business this summer. I can't see us winning this one.

3 -1

West Ham do have some excellent players. Players that would immediately improve us. This will be very tough indeed. A draw would be a very positive result.

I've seen a few comments to this effect, but struggling to see what's so good.

Max Kilman - fairly average Premier League stopper, but they've paid nearly £50m, which doesn't strike me as good business at all.
Summerville - average Championship level winger. Could be the next Bowen, just as likely to be the next Benrahma.
Fullkrug - another old forward to join the Antonio and Ings OAP club
Luis Guilherme - never heard of him, doesn't appear to have scored a single goal
Todibo - don't know much about him. A loan from Nice doesn't seem like too much to get excited about though.

Am I missing something?

Getting rid of Moyes was probably their best bit of business since last season.

Summerville did win the league's player of the year so by that definition he can't be average for that level. Todibo seems to be highly rated the last couple of years but then again you'd think he'd be at a better club. I'd say they've just done alright.

I wonder when Jarrod will join his Dad's club in proper claret and blue. It's written.
