One positive from today - it should be absolutely self evident and indisputable that he makes a big difference to our side.

Nah, we lost at Wolves and he was dismal. I'm gonna need more evidence of his goodness.

If he’s out of Thursday that’s a huge blow.

Emery referred to it earlier as a small injury. Optimistically I’m hoping that’s what it is and he wasn’t risked today. But he’s probably out until August.

We need Onana fit. With Kamara still out, he's crucial in our midfield. Emery is unsure on his fitness for Thursday at Forest. I think it was a mistake not to start Barkley against Fulham.

"We train this afternoon, and we will see how he is responding, if he's feeling good to play tomorrow"

"He was testing yesterday and today we must test again how he is feeling, and how we can get the players with some pain to play tomorrow"

Sounds good enough to me...

Linguistic issues aside, it's interesting that it's a case of seeing how Onana 'is feeling.'

Think it's probably just a lack of adjectives. Regardless, if he's still 'feeling' pain, they won't risk him.

There have always been players in the modern game that if not 110% feeling fit and well will throw a sickie.

Long time since the likes of Traughtman and Ray Woods - i bet most of them if there were on a paid when played basis would never be so injured

Being judged by medical experts not to be completely ready for the intensity of elite-level football is not the same as "throwing a sickie".

Yep, and why risk someone who isn't 100% when a game or 2 of rest can fix the problem, better that than losing him for the rest of the season (and putting his world cup place at risk).
