Unai Emery says Pau Torres and Tyrone Mings are due back within the next fortnight, but Amadou Onana faces a longer spell on the sidelines.
What’s “longer”? A week, a month, couple of months?

As for Torres, it was a couple of weeks when he first did the injury.  A month later and it's still a couple of weeks.

Hope these injuries don’t continue to blight his career. Just as he starts to look a real player he gets crocked.

Very frustrating for all concerned, especially him I’d imagine.

I worry his mahoosiveness makes him more likely to suffer them.

It's a him or us thing.  I don't remember Patrick Viera missing swathes of games.

Just checked Vieira’s injury record and he did have 3 fairly lengthy spells (77, 74 and 71 days) out during his career.

Where's Barrenechea when you need him?!
Don't need him, we've got Bogarde and Hemmings.
Hopefully, yes. Bogarde is not quite as dynamic as Onana and Hemmings is a rookie .... but, I like them both and think they've got great potential.

If it's his height causing the issues, fuck him off to the NBA.

He’ll be missed but Bogarde can come in and hopefully Barkley isn’t that far away. All depends on what other injuries we pick up. We could do with Garcia getting up to speed as well.

Barkley isn’t due back to the back end of next month!

Pau bloody better be back inside the next 10 days. Although it’s been “two weeks” every week since he first got injured so god knows

Last time I looked they were well off the pace (for Benfica).

Edit: you losing your local touch mate?

Agree, UE said it was only a 'small' injury. He's also said 1 to 2 weeks for nearly 3 to 4 weeks now!

Ha! Too busy and excited with the Villa to pay much attention though my daughters went without me to see Sporting win 4-0 the other day. No idea why I thought Benfica were top, probably as it's been so long since (spit) Porto were and I know Sporting are second. Barrenechea has been a big success though at his loan club and they'll be more than happy to sign him in the summer. He currently has his left arm in a sling after a training ground accident today.

I think that unlike Harvey, he’s triggered his permanent move.

I don't think there was anything to be triggered, it was a loan with a compulsory purchase at the end of the loan. Shame really, I reckon we could have squeezed a few more million out of them plus there would be plenty of interest from Spain and Italy.

Reported at the time as a €3m loan fee, €12m payable for permanent transfer if he made 15 appearances, 30% of future profit up to a limit of a €30m transfer (either profit or fee, can’t remember now) received by Benfica. I think it’s profit, if so we’d need them to sell for €45m to max out our cut. Not beyond the realms of possibility.

Good to see him by the tunnel at the end f the game congratulating the team and shaking hands with their players too. Torres was also in attendance. I think it's reflective of a good team spirit at the moment.
