The word 'even' irritates me as well. Think 'also' would be better.

It doesn't bother me tbh. I think our version is much better than Liverpool's, and it makes me smile that you can always hear the Brummie accent on 'nineteen-eighty-two'.

I remember him on top of Birmingham Town Hall saying “this is the foot” and lifting it up!

Who?

Peter Withe on the Council House balcony. As was the way back then I think the Lord Mayor formally welcomed the team back. It was the Friday afternoon/evening and they appeared sober! I'd have loved to see the Lord Mayor trying to handle the team last Thursday!🙂

My mate (a well-known local author) was on the balcony with the team at either the 81 or 82 reception.

And that was a couple of my pals doing the conga on the top of an adjacent building at one of the receptions too. One of them is also in the Red, Red Wine video (right at the start with no top on):

He had his C/Wood Villa flag up there on the building with him. The Blosers round our end were fuming.

You mean we didn't invite the Small Heath manager to our European Cup parade?

We need to win a Conference League for the set.

Has anyone ever won all of them?

Dennis Mortimer refused to swap shirts. As captain he knew he would receive the cup, and said he was determined to do it in a Villa shirt. Clever chap our captain.

I suspect a lot of the others regret swapping shirts in hindsight. It was the fashion at the time. Like our fans singing you’ll never walk alone.

Yeah but do you ever see pictures of Forest or Liverpool players with their European Cups, in opposition shirts?

It's really unfortunate our lot didn't think about it, apart from Dennis.

And we still haven't worn claret and blue when winning European honours (apart from the Super). Maybe we'd have been better off not winning any of them  >:(

Well we definitely won't be winning any in a claret and blue shirt next season. 😟
