The reality is you can perfectly afford to buy the real thing, but you’re a tight arse who would rather give money to criminals to do criminal things than go without something yourself.

That’s without even touching on the robbing the club, the economy, the NHS, and everyone else that’s no longer seeing a penny of what you’ve spent.

I get the criminal element, they're a bunch of wrong uns. But the reason I buy something, is specifically for a want/need for that product.

I'm no Scouser, stuff splashed with brand names isn't for me. But if I wanted say a pair of jeans, then why would I buy something that isn't that brand of jeans? The £100 you might save doesn't make up for the fact you haven't bought what you want.

To bring morals into it, how moral is it to be buying the official kit when it is in all likelihood made by little slave kids in factories in Bangladesh or some such place?

It is pretty much impossible to be buying anything these days which does not have exploitation in the supply chain. Whether that be cheap tat at Primark or £80 replica football shirts (which aren’t even fucking ‘replica’ any more because they found another way to squeeze even more money out of fans).

Talking of criminality, I lay that squarely at the kit manufacturer and football clubs. Minimum wage workers in Cambodia producing shirts for less than a tenner which then retail at £80. Greed, pure and simple.

I guess you have to factor in shipping, freight and customs duties, but still a rip off.

As you say, probably costs way more than £100, it was just the 'luxury' brand that came to mind when discussing overpriced polyester tat.

Football kits are pure tat anyway . If there's one thing buying a fake copy of makes sense it's insanely overpriced football tops as they are all made of cheap materials in third world sweat shops anyway. Fake makes total sense here.

I wouldn’t count on it. These designer brands RRP have absolutely no link to quality (when it comes to t shirts and jeans specifically). It’s all about buying the brand and protecting its image.

As far as kits are concerned, we’ve been marketed to accept the costs and the fact it’s every season too.

They wouldn't have an image to protect if they turned out stuff that was similar in quality to football shirts.
