What a ridiculous load of nonsense talksport are talking about four Madrid players looking at a ban for their quarter final

They are desperate for Arsenal to win it - God forbid.

As for that image of Rudiger - he looks like he is an All Black in the middle of the Haka - crazy!

They'll probably be on the beach for the rest of the season now.

Micky Mouse league. Winning 6-1 at St Etienne is like Celtic going to Ross County. I don't think PSG are all they are cracked up to be. Liverpool made them look better than they really are.

Surely the winners of the Norwegian, Irish, Finnish, Icelandic, etc, leagues beat them by a good four or five months?

I reckon now that it is a league then it's fine.

Other clubs have already qualified for the qualifying rounds.

Before this season I'd have joined you on your barricade.

Nope, because none of those has automatic access into the league stage, the qualifying rounds in the summer are considered a different competition.

Was just looking at the fixtures calendar. If we manage to get past Palace and PSG, that means an extra two midweek game slots are taken up with the UCL semi final games, and us needing to fit Man City away and Spurs home back into the calendar somewhere.

Nice problem to have, but that's a crazy amount of games in such a short space of time - Are there even enough spare mid-week windows to fit those extra two games in between now and end of league season?

It's a long trip on daily basis, 450KM return to Plage de Pennedepie.

Yes. City match can be brought forward to the Wednesday before the Semi-finals. Then the Spurs one could come forward before the final, although the notice of that change is very late. Otherwise we might have to play the final Saturday, then Monday/Tuesday unless Spurs get knocked out of Europa.

If we beat PSG, do we already know the exact dates of the semi final, ie Tuesday or Wednesday of the week in question, or does that remain a variable depending on the teams involved etc?

Not decided yet. Last round they announced it late on the Wednesday night.

I've heard a few people talking about the Citeh game moved to before the semi final. I'd prefer that not to happen given how important the semi final is but I suppose it's preferable to playing the midweek before the final as we might have to if we go through in CL.

This has just been posted by Kieram Maguire - Liverpool University lecturer, expert on football finance and host of The Price of Football Podcast.

UEFA considering having an additional Champions League place  awarded to the most profitable club in Europe. Clubs amenable to idea but arguing over how profit should be defined. Manchester United want it based on EBITDA as will ignore poor player recruitment and interest on the Glazer loans. Spurs want it based on long term results in which case they would qualify as the PL’s most profitable club. Daniel Levy said “There’s’ far too much emphasis on results on the pitch and not enough focus on the boardroom and this proposal will reward sustainability which is what fans really want rather than trophies”.

Somehow I missed a bit off my last post

Todd Boehly considering selling Cole Palmer to the completely independent Chelsea women’s team for £200 million then loaning him back.
