I didn't think I would be going to PSG away as I lost my job after Xmas and couldn't justify another European trip. My lad who is also Villa mad is living in Melbourne at the moment and messaged me on Sunday asking about the trip. I told him unfirtunately  I wasn't going. A minute later he sent hotel and travel details for Paris and explained that he had secretly arranged with mates of mine from the Bournemouth Lions to pay for the trip on my behalf.  I was a little emotional at such an amazing gesture...

That is absolutely brilliant - good on you and your son too.

Wish I’d had kids now….

You can never tell though Pat. I had a few, and only the youngest two are bothered about going to the match. The rest of ‘em just wanted to sell the fanzine.

Two’s not bad though - that’s double your own support!

In my defence I hauled my nephew and niece down Villa Park as soon as they were old enough and until recently my nephew still questioned why I chained him to the Villa radiator. He’s had a season ticket with his dad for about 25 years now, so I suppose I’ve added two Villa fans as well.

All square!

An honourable draw.

To the surprised of nobody, PSG get their game against Nantes postponed so they'll be nice and rested. UEFA shouldn't allow this nonsense.

The same happened, I think with Lille, in last year's euro conference league. I mean, good on the French footy bosses for allowing it, playing a league game 3 or 4 days before a Champs League qtr final is very weird. I know the French league has fewer games, but the advantage of not playing that weekend before is massive for PSG. It's pretty unfair, not a level playing field as they say.

And it didn’t do Lille any good as we knocked the fuckers out.

Well, it did. As they were much better than us in the second leg. Thankfully the first leg performance, a fairly jammy goal and Martinez's heroics were enough to see us through.

UEFA shouldn’t step in. This is a matter for the French league. We’d love to have that flexibility. And besides, it just adds congestion to their season end, when they might be in the semis or final.

Yup. The fewer opportunities for UEFA to step in and say "actually guys, we want you to do it this way instead" the better.

They didn't do it for either Liverpool game, they're shitting themselves about playing us.

It's a UEFA competition. It's unfair on Nantes and on Villa, as well as supporters who had bought tickets for weekend games.

All those things can be true and it’s still not a matter for UEFA. Their jurisdiction ends (and should end) at the scheduling for their competition, not a domestic one.

Looked at Hospitality, eye wateringly expensive but you get Le Havre game chucked in too.

For those that went to Bruges, check your booking history. Not showing for me or loads of others. I wonder if they are waiting for the data from Bruges on who scanned in and who didn't?
