Sky Sports website is still saying that Villa can register 4 of the 5 new players for Europe.

I'm lost

They are suggesting it's because we've let 6 players from our European squad leave. Jhon Duran, Emiliano Buendia, Kostas Nedeljkovic, Jaden Philogene, Diego Carlos and Joe Gauci.

I haven't read the rules, but they are suggesting teams can add 3 players normally, but can add more if they've sold/released/loaned out an unusually high number of players.  So you can add 4 players to your squad if you've lost 5 or more from your European squad in the transfer window, and 5 players if you've lost 7 or more players.  We lost the 6 above.

But unless they've seen a hidden rule that is different to the ones published on UEFA's website then they're wrong and have just mis-read it like lots of us did before.

One of the podcasts indicated the club thought it was four. Whether that was ITK or guess we will find out shortly.

Didn't we also mess up last season with not registering Kellyman for the Conference League?

Can't remember. Think he played against Hibs but would have been injured more or less straightaway after that anyway.
