You could just laugh and say it's a fair kop, instead of whining on about it.

Seems to be the same Trump/Farage/Clarkson thing of not liking their own words thrown back at them to disprove the new take. I believe there was a moan after a certain poster stated "I always knew Van Nistelrooy was going to be a failure at Leicester". Cue Dave quote post stating the total opposite take on his appointment.

Yeah, apparently Weller's turn to soul boy with the Style Council was the last straw.

Dave's non-mod status was news to me, too. I've been arguing under false pretences. It's like writing a letter to "The Prime Minister" and getting a reply from Liz Truss.

Does anyone know if Schmeichel roughed up the penalty spot? The bloke next to me was on about it and then when I was speaking to me mother last night she said he'd got previous for doing that against Ross County. I didn't notice though, and it wasn't on the MOTD highlights.

No he didn't. We were a bit slow on the uptake of what he might get up to, but Ginny got the ball fairly quickly and went and stood over it. Think Youri then stood in front of him when Schmeichel did walk up with a second ball in his hands. Youri laughed at him and shoved him away.

A poundland attempt at Martinez chicanery that was laughed out of town as it should be.

To be fair to Kasper, thought he played really well given he lost his arm in that challenge with Ramsey a few years back.

AFAIK, only Jon and Leeg as mods. God help us all.

Torres and Mings should hopefully both be back for the next round of matches.  A bit of choice then depending on opponent.

Ozzjim too though his main H&V presence is o the Transfer Thread, he's addicted to signings and sellings.

Yeah, apparently Weller's turn to soul boy with the Style Council was the last straw.

A sad misjudgement. TSC were, in essence, mod-ier than The Jam.

Come back Dave.

Plus point with the win last night, we have just jumped Celtic in the club co-efficient. Might be in pot 3 for next years draw with another couple of rounds.

As for 5th place. England are now on 19.070 points with Italy back on 15.587. England still have all 7 in the competition as well to score points where all the nearest associations have currently lost teams. For context, Germany finished 2nd last year on 19.357 and Italy won it on 21.0.

It would take a every single English team to be knocked out in the next rounds for 5th place not to be in contention, and even then it might not be enough.

Unless we enter the Conference League qualifying round, seeding is largely irrelevant, now. And even if we did, we'd likely be seeded based on average performance by English clubs, anyway.

As for the weightings, the system has changed so comparison with last season isn't going to be an exact science. It seems to be more Champions League-heavy now, I still don't think we can be sure fifth place would be enough just yet.
