My lad’s just come up with this,
If we beat Celtic 1-0, Atalanta would have to win at Barca

Seems like the results have been exceedingly kind to us tonight.

Pretty good results overall, I'd have happily taken being 9th after our loss yesterday.

Yep, not too bad but frustrating to think where even one more point would have put us.  A win next Wednesday should give us a decent chance of finishing in the top 8 though, so all to play for.

Feyenoord battering Bayern is massive.

3-0 win with 23% possession and two shots on target. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Unai.

UEFA must be very chuffed this new format has created the jeopardy they so badly required.

The new format is great. Mad that only 3 points separate 8-24th spots going into the last round of games.

If we had more point in the bag it would all be in our own hands.

Yeah, didn't see Feyenoord beating Bayern, which is a massive boost with them having Slovan Bratislava at home next week.

That last minute disallowed goal against Juventus was the big one.

Let's be positive, this is a good day for us.

We've a better chance than we otherwise may have and a winnable game next week.

Will we go for steady control or just throw everything at a big big win....

Hard to see Atalanta winning in Barcelona.

However.....

Barcelona have already qualified, will they play a weakened team ?

This Sunday they have Valencia at home.
Then on the Wednesday, it's Atalanta.
The Sunday after they have Alaves at home.

Its really infuriating  i agree. 0-0 would have been a good result.  We are villa, we never do things easy.

Totally so
Mings putting the ball in his own hands in Brugge has taken it out of our hands.

Still I think a win v Celtic would go along way to qualifying automatically as never know what can happen in other matches.
