First time in the Champions League, second time in Europe in what seems like forever.

It shows how much this means to everyone, and just how far we've come in such a short space of time, that we're this disappointed with that performance at Monaco.

As things stand we are already in the next round, and have a better chance of Top 8 than probably anyone expected at the start of the season. There are lots of positives to be taken still, but it shows what we need to do.

We're going into the Celtic game not being in control, but that just means we need to go for it, smash the fuck out of them and hope we make it to the top 8.

Good post. As annoying and disappointing  as this was last night, before we kicked a champions league ball we all would have been happy to even have qualified for the play offs considering  we have never played here.

We have come a long way you are right. If we started badly and were now in play offs after a bad start then i think we would all be happy. Just frustrating  we put so much work into this to throw it all away after such a disappointing display - which now means fa cup is likely to be sacrificed  😔

To add that Man City, Real Madrid and PSG aren't even guaranteed to qualify for the play-off round. At least two of them will obviously, but there is a distinct possibility of one of them not making it.

I'm as frustrated as the next person, but we have new signings, players returning from injury, and a top manager who's been here before.

I'd quite like a really big hitter from another country in the next round.  That's what it's all about, and I think we suit playing the better teams who leave spaces, so bring on Real or PSG etc.

i'd quite like a minnow from another country in the next round, whether it's the last 16 or 32. Preferably a team that's just grateful to have made it that far and play a big hitter from another country.

I’m enjoying this moment with our players and I hope whoever we get we are respectful, become the protagonists, impose our style, and more or less twat them 5-0.

PSG have Stuttgart in their 8th game, so if they lose tonight, I think they'll fail to qualify for next round.

So hoping they lose to Man Citeh.

Yeah, especially as Citeh can't catch us if we beat Celtic.

Agree.  Before it started, I thought making the play-offs would be the target, but we've obviously exceeded those expectations a bit.

Playing Wednesday means that we'll have a better idea of what we will need to do to finish in the top 8, so let's see.

All 18 games kick off on Wednesday at 8pm so no advantage gained from playing on Wednesday. For the neutral, it does make this league stage a lot more watchable than the old group stage when you get to the last day

All those games at once... Taking crack cocaine while following the Champions League has never sounded so ambitious.

Certainly the below par performance last night and the cock-up by Mings in the Bruges game have cost us (or might cost us) but it still really annoys me that we would have beat Juve but for a last minute VAR decision that was very dodgy IMO. UTV

can you play Man city in next round as they are english , I remember in other champ leagues , you couldnt play your own country until later rounds, or I might even have dreamt that .

Give us PSG , I reckon we would have a chance , the lesser teams we struggle.
