...hence why whatever happens in CL i will just enjoy it.

Do you mean "until one pass from a defender goes slightly astray, leading to a Monaco shot", at which point the whole endeavour will be a disgrace and an embarrassment?

Not sure why your quoting me on this did you read the reaction thread vs forest? I was quite tame in comparison to others?

Erm, asking for a friend.  Do we not want to play the extra two games for the revenue or is going straight into the last 16 worth more money because of prize money?

The latter

You must get more prize £££ going straight through via the top 8, than playing and winning 2 more matches and the revenue those will provide(I.e. win bonus x2 and added match day revenue)?

You do. If you read further up the thread its something like €11m for direct to the top 8.

Cheers.

It is also €2.1m per win in the group stages (€700k draw), and €300k per league position (could be more, as it started at €275k, but for each draw in the competition, the €700k over goes into the league position pot, currently €10,5m extra). So assuming we don't win both matches, and we drop 4 places to at least 9th, we are already down about €5-6mi on what we could have earned.

There’s no way I want to be faffing about with the playoffs, even if it did mean a few extra bob. Have you seen the names in the group. We’d get Real Madrid, no doubt about it.

Just bought my ticket for the Monaco game, for the princely (ahem) sum of €22. Chuis hyper content.

Me too, it wouldn't let me earlier in the week, but all sorted now

It was reserved for Monaco season ticket holders. But all seven of them have got their tickets now, so they've opened them up to general sale.

Tried buying but Monaco have obviously realized Villa fans are buying these tickets. Making it clear they are for home fans only.

They were until Wednesday, when they went on general sale. You should be able to buy tickets in a "neutral" section.

I can think of one person who must be licking his lips at the thought of us having two big extra games.

Won’t we be financially better off to go through automatically though?

We will, even by winning the remaining games will give us more than the play offs.  Plus Heck would only really have one big game to fleece us, not two.

I’m as much a Heck is a money grabbing wanker as the next man but this makes no sense whatsoever as has been explained about 20 times on this thread.
