I hope it doesn’t but it might come down to Mings picking the ball up.

I've probably watched less than 10 non Villa games on TV in the last 15 years. Including Prem games. Althogh I do watch MOTD if Villa win.

I've certainly never watched FA Cup finals (Last one I saw was 2006 or so), or Europa games. I have to physically go to a lot of non Villa games, but that's different. I have long since stopped being a football fan and now only care about watching Villa. The first team, not the kids and definitely not the women's game which bores me to tears on the odd occasion I have had to watch it.

Each to their own, but Bologna v Girona doesn't interest me in the slightest. Nor does Bayern v Milan tbf.

Thanks for typing this. Saved me having to do it. Other football is wank. I tried to watch Rangers v Spuds last night. Got bored after 5 minutes.

Looking nailed on that there will be 5 Champions League places for English clubs next season. Potentially massive for us.

I did that simulation and filled in all the results twice... it had us missing out on qualifying both times, one by a point and one by goal difference (had us on 17 for both). I'm probably just terrible at predicting, but I'm not buying the 64% probability that 16 points will be enough. I'll do it another 98 times to get a better idea.

As a bit of fun it's fine, but as an actual tool to determine positions it's absolutely pointless unless you know what the scores are going to be in each and every game. Which nobody does.

17 points is enough every time I've played FM24, which is is scores of times. It has never not been enough. 16 usually is too. But 17, always.

Same here, just not interested in games as a neutral any more.

Me too. I’m a MOTD watcher when we win but unless I really dislike one of the teams I struggle to watch other games. I don’t have Sky, TNT etc so almost never come across live football. Which means I don’t know half of our opposing players most weeks.

I am the total opposite I love football and will watch any match including non-league which I do regularly and my two lads who have both played/play football for local teams
In fact if I’m walking over a field and there is a football match going on I will have to go and have a look
I’m an addict, I sometimes I wish I wasn’t but there it is

I mean... yeah, it's quite obviously pointless.

Might as well enjoy it this year as its unlikely we will qualify next season  if we dont strengthen in January.

Done far better than we thought we would.

I think if you gave me a option if its to miss out on CL i would rather go for conference than europa try win it, also as its easier teams it should not have as much of a impact on league form as europa would

Clubs outside the media’s favourites aren’t allowed to strengthen in order to maintain a constant challenge. The financial rules prevent it and the drawbridge has well and truly been pulled up. We are allowed to get so far and then have to sell. It’s like being punished for daring to take up a place in the CL. It’s frustrating but this game is in a state and resembles nothing like the game I fell in love with over 50 years ago.
The only hope we have is we have a fantastic manager. Lose him and it’s back to square one.

It takes outstanding coaching, recruitment and financial management, but it can be done.

I hope so because this club deserves it.

How about enjoying it because it's, errr, enjoyable?
