England are currently well out in front for top 5 CL qualification next season.

90 points compared to 78 for Italy, 72 for Spain and 79 for the Deutsch.

I thought that last season this was done only look at the results of the previous season? Your stats seem to be a measure over 3 or 4 seasons. Have they changed the criteria?

You are probably correct. I was looking at the bold number. There are a lot of smaller countries higher who only have one or two teams in it so the split is lower, but looking at the big five it still falls into England's favour.

England: 3.857 (7 teams)
France : 3.357 ( 7 teams but one team already knocked out so not earning points).
Germany : 3.000 (but divided over 8 teams, not 7)
Italy : 2.750 (but divided over 8 teams, not 7)
Spain : 2.285 (7 teams)

It is just calculated on this 24/25 season.

England have 53 points divided by 7 teams so our coefficient is 7.571.

Italy have 52 points / 8 teams = 6.500

Germany have 52 points / 8 teams = 6.500

Spain have 42 points / 7 teams = 6.000

With 5th likely to get CL next season, we probably need to finish above 2 of Chelsea, Spurs and Newcastle in the "best of the rest" mini league. Which is where I see Villa at the moment.

That would likely guarantee 5th, Finish above all of them and we would likely come 4th again. At least.

Feels a bit like Newcastle are dropping out of that conversation to me. More like top three / next three / next three (with the last ones being Man Utd, Newcastle and Brighton).
