You're miles better off finishing 8th to guarantee the funds for qualifying without the risk of the Play Offs.

This 100%
I can not fathom why any one would think differently.

This is FFP playing tricks with the mind. Just finish top 8.

Beat one of Bayern or Juve and it's on.

I think Juventus is winnable.

Bayern will probably be too good for us.

Think Leipzig away will be very tough.

Juve is 50/50
Munich i would be suprised if we dont lose that. A point would be unbelievable for us.

Leipzig will be tough but griendly we did cause some problems and that was without our best players

As this came out 10 hours ago, I'm guessing it's been posted somewhere else and I just missed it but here are the Bologna ticket details just in case:

I wonder if this means they'll actually be answering the phone next week?

You get £1.7m for finishing top 8 and £0.9m for 9-16th.

The win bonus is league phase only, so you gain nothing extra for winning the playoff aside from any gate receipts, etc.

We used to get emails but I guess they’ve now decided not to do that?

I tried to phone the ticket office 7 times on Friday - at 10.01am on Friday , the message was that they would not answer the phone due to high demand, it is worse than trying to contact  the Doctors on a Monday morning!

I have brought a ticket for the Bayern game, however as I do not own a mobile phone, and have therefore got a physical season ticket card for this season, how do I get into the ground (climb over the wall etc..), as far as I can tell you cannot print off the ticket on to paper as we did last season for the Conference league games? has anyone else who has a season ticket card contacted the club for an answer to this question?

I have exactly the same problem. I was 29 in the queue and moved to 24 in 15 minutes could not wait that long for an answer. I called back later and got the too busy go away message.

Performance-based prize money (37.5% of total)
Stage   Prize Money (per club)
Winner   €25m ($27.8m)
Runner-up   €18.5m ($20.5m)
Semifinalists   €15m ($16.6m)
Quarterfinalists   €12.5m ($13.9)
Round of 16   €11m ($12.2)
Reaching knockout round playoff   €1m ($1.1m)
League-phase wins   €2.1m ($2.3m)
League-phase draws   €700k ($777,883)

Additionally, teams will be paid a new league ranking bonus based on their final ranking in the league phase. The league ranking bonus is divided into 666 equal shares of initially valued at €275,000, with the team finishing 36th taking home that solitary share. The 35th team will take two shares and so on until the team finishing top is awarded 36 shares. The undistributed €700,000 from each drawn game will proportionately increase the value of the shares given to each position.
_______________

I think that means if you finish 8th, you'll win £11m plus £275k more than the team that finishes 9th, who in turn win £1m for reaching the play-offs plus their £275k prize share thing and gate/sponsor money.

Therefore it's a no brainer?

So if you reach the last 16 via the playoff you still receive the £11m plus the winnings from the extra match.

I assume that the knockout money is one payment. So if you lose in the QF you get 12.5m. It doesn't accumulate.

Wassall Villain - just phoned the ticket office - it seems that every home cup game if you don't have a mobile phone and use a plastic season ticket card - you can either phone the ticket office and they will send you a print at home ticket to your email address OR you can go into the ticket office before the game and ask them to print it for you.

Thanks Sid. I tried again this morning and got the too busy message. I had come to the conclusion that a T O visit on match day is the only way to resolve. They really should have pushed the tickets out with the print at home option given it was stated as an either or option on the purchase details.
