I'm not going so feel free to ignore me completely, but Irish (and English) style pubs are the very last place I'd be headed on a visit to a city I'd never been to before.

A half litre of lager at a local boozer is around 8 francs so £6-£7.

Yup, that’s the best one. I goes via Kornhausplatz too and there are plenty of bars and restaurants there. The alternative is to get a train from the station

Also, if you take tram 9 you can stop off at Breitenreinplatz. There are a few places there such as https://barbiere-bern.ch/ontap/ a bit more expensive but a great selection of locally brewed beers. Probably a good place to go post match as well. Let me know where you’re headed!

Was due to fly early this morning from Heathrow after meeting 3 other Bournemouth Lions. Unfortunately got sick after driving back from the Everton game and reluctantly decided I couldn't face the 4 and half hour drive to meet them.
