Well, all good stuff and - yes - there is a strong commercial driver behind much of what is listed. However, there are clearly plans to make the 150th anniversary the High Point it should be.

Yesterday's result:

Swiss Cup - second round
Vevey Sports 2-4 Young Boys.

Vevey Sports play in the 3rd tier of Swiss football.

The YB captain Loris Benito played his first game after 7 months out with an ACL, and keeper was back after being put with a shoulder injury. But they lost their 6'2" Senegalese defensive midfielder Cheikh Niasse to a pretty poor tackle - he's doubtful for Tuesday's game.

A bar?

In seriousness though, Everton fans did this guide in 2015 and should still be relevant for the general areas if specific named places have closed.

I asked a friend who lives in Bern and they said this place is new and close to the station https://mccarthysirishpub.ch/bern/ I also used to go here when I lived in Bern https://www.cafedespyrenees.ch/ it’s on the Kornhaus square which is convenient for trams to the ground

Well it’s been a while since I lived in Bern so I’m not 100% anymore. The old tram depot used to be really good, they have a microbrewery and serve food. I never really liked the Mr Pickwick pub but. I’m really looking forward to the match, it’s been much too long for me!

I'm not going so feel free to ignore me completely, but Irish (and English) style pubs are the very last place I'd be headed on a visit to a city I'd never been to before.

It depends if you want to drink and sing or explore a bit I guess. I'd be in the 'look around and enjoy the place' camp, some though will want to do the full 'Villa on tour' stuff.
