Just read the Heck thing about celebrating the european triumph against Bayern Munich... unbelievably tin pot.

Imagine if we went to Newcastle and they were using the game to celebrate beating us in the 1924 FA Cup final? We'd be proper taking the piss.

Awful idea.

It’s part of oir 150th anniversary and was the greatest night in our history. No better time to celebrate this again due the game being against the team we beat.

After being ignored for years by Ellis these heroes can’t be seen enough at Villa Park as far as I’m concerned.

Thanks for the link.
I have just read this and forwarded it to the scamline alert as it is obviously a way to soften up fans to pay more.

Well, I must admit to being a little bit hurt that my status as the forum's de facto correct poster has come under such scrutiny!

Has anyone used livefootballtickets.com before? Would the tickets be valid?

The issue I've had with live football tickets is that they often don't bother putting air holes in the packaging and by the time they get to me, they're dead.

I'm with Big Dunc, Paul Schrader and the Cool Citrus on this. Given we have Bayern in our first home EC/CL game for 40+years, it would be daft not to use that game if a celebration of our greatest triumph was planned.

I don't have an opinion on it except, as a firm believer in the gods of football jinx, it looks to me to be an invitation for a 0-5 battering.

This is one of those posts where a 'thumbs-up-in-agreement' button would be useful.

Well, all good stuff and - yes - there is a strong commercial driver behind much of what is listed. However, there are clearly plans to make the 150th anniversary the High Point it should be.
Who is the subject of the proposed statue behind the North Stand? - Ron S?

It's a sculpt of himself, made out of season ticket holders melted down seats.  😉
