Starting to worry that it'll be sold out by the time i'm eligible tomorrow (unless I go down the GA+ route). Any idea on numbers left?

Not all that many showing to be fair - practically none in Trinity which is my preference. I may wait for Bologna

Oh well, neither queues really moved, got to the hospital and logged in again and straight in. Nothing left, keeps sending me to areas with no seats lol. To those whose queue worked enjoy the game UTV

With the anger about the ticket prices, I did not think the game would sell out.

First time as a member I haven't managed to get a ticket. Clearly IT issues as queues were a lottery, some moving, some not. The number of people in front of me went up at one stage. Lots of demand at the high prices but it is Bayern at the end of the day and a novelty being in the CL. We had 47000 for Juventus in 1983 when our average attendance that season was 21000. It seems to be the Villa way.

My advice for next time is log in early if you can, then just keep refreshing the page every 5 minutes so it doesn't kick you out.

Going by what people are saying on twitter a few might use the Bologna game as a protest against the prices, but we'll see.  Can't see the point personally as it's going to sell out either way.

After that fiasco I'll give Bologna a miss, besides £97 for Bologna is OTT, even Dick Turpin wore a mask.

That was my experience, logged on just before 9 and the Bayern game wasn’t even on there, kept refreshing every so often then the game appeared about 9.10 and the buy option dead on 9.30.

I thought I'd check the average attendance quoted above, for 1982/83, and it was in fact 23,748. Not high, admittedly, but it was still 6th highest in the division, and only 400 less than Arsenal's average attendance, which was 5th highest. Across the board, average attendances that season were very low indeed, Liverpool's was only 34,000, Everton's 20,000.

It was always going to sell out - they have people over a barrel. Pay or miss (one of) the biggest game(s) in 40 years... doesn't make what they are charging right.

It will probably impact other games - Everton not selling out for example.

Apologies I quoted 83/84 lol, 23,748 is correct. The point I was alluding to is that we have huge demand for these glamour ties where the Villa hordes come over the hill

If I remember correctly, every Italian restaurant owner between Oxford and Manchester seemed to be there!

I remember that being the case lol. Quite a lot of aggro unfortunately, a few Villa fans were stabbed IIRC. Loads of fighting on the old coach park after the game also, as a lad it was pretty frightening to see.
