Plenty will. I think the prices are utterly depressing, albeit not unexpected. The direction we're moving in price wise is increasingly bleak. But I'm not cutting my nose off to spite my face. I'd have traded my grandmother for a shot at the Champions League a few years ago. Stomping out of Wigan 3-0 it wouldn't have seen any further away; take my £79 per game, would have been happy to have coughed up double or triple. And that's why it's depressing, because they know that and they're exploiting that.

This. That Wigan game was the ultimate low point for me and I stomped out the ground early like many others.

I'm just surprised they haven't gone the whole way and said there'll be dynamic pricing for the Champion's League tickets.

Football will eat itself.

Just three short years ago when the scum 6 super league was in motion Villa came out strongly against it and reposted an edited version of the video that was done for the 140th anniversary in 2014.

It's like we have become a different club in the three years since then. Where is the touch of class?

Every club thinks they're classy. It's just the delusion fans have of the importance of their own club. Man City do loads of "classy" things for their supporters and community, but they're a bunch of cheats.

Coopers Injury and 5nobsVilla various successor accounts have made an interesting point about a different type of fan. It wouldn't suprise me if there isn't a deliberate policy to make games expensive to loosen the grip of season ticket holders and members for these games, to get the regional Tarquin to attend a game of Champions League football. The ocassion will be special, the atmosphere incredible and perhaps that mix will encourage said Tarquin to affiliate more with a club, with us and return for other premium priced matches.

If Heck expands the fan base and generates more income (which these prices inevitably will), then NSWE will think yet another job well done.

He's not here to be liked, evidently. He knows all us legacy bozos can performatively complain, but honest to Christ when it comes to the crunch, imagine sitting at home knowing you could be somewhere we've not been since before I even existed. We'll all be dancing like Spice Heads in need of a fix. We'll be there and he knows it. We can be exploited, so he will exploit us. But let's not pretend there's no design or he's actually bad at this.

Remember sitting in a half empty Holte End on a Sunday afternoon losing to Liverpool at home - 6-0 - Jurgen laughing his head off, relegation all but confirmed, at that point I could never see us competing in the Premier League or a European Competition again!!

I think you're right Ads. I can find a way to pay for the tickets, so I will, for Bayern at least. As will the vast majority, even those who are complaining now and whose initial reaction is/was 'fuck that', people will fork out, FOMO will kick in by Monday afternoon/Tuesday morning.

There will be some that just can't find (or refuse) a way to pay, and I genuinely feel sorry for them as this is just utterly, depressingly shit.

I can see a problem though, in that if we don't have a similarly good season to last year, demand could be well down. Say we do OK but a bit down on last year due to the Champions League exertions, and finish 7th again. He already can't sell out the ground and the hospitality areas despite us finishing 4th, how's he going to do it if results are worse and we qualify for the Europa Conference again? This feels like a tipping point to me. I'll go to see Bayern and Juventus, but more than likely won't bother with the other two, and I'm pretty resigned to not renewing at all next year.

Me and my mate used to say that back in 90s when we had season tickets.

It has only grown ever since. Even after a decline of 6 or 7 years and underlying one of 20 years were still 36k average finishing mid table in Championship.

My wife has told me I have to get a 2nd job, doing the Amazon delivery of parcels so that I can go to the Bayern game.

I am now filling in the application form!!!

For all the anger about the prices, when I walk into Villa Park when we play Bayern, it will be a fantastic feeling that will live with me for a long time, and it will be made even better when we beat them.

Good luck to you mate, but after sleeping on it I think although I could find the money for it I've decided they can bollocks and I'm I'm not paying it.

The real fallout of all of this is going to come over the next 3 or 4 months.  Like others, we have waited long enough to see Villa at the top table so are going to do all we can to go to those games - we'll be knocking a load of others on the head though to pay for it.  If others are in the same boat then good luck to Heck in getting day trippers through the door for Southampton, Bournemouth, Brentford, Ipswich et al - the best Villa team in years is going to be playing those games in front of sub 36k crowds I reckon, and with his pisstaking GA+ seats all but empty.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that won't happen.
