I feel really sad about all of this. I haven’t been to VP for 2 years now and was determined to make it for one of these games. It’s a kick in the teeth.

However, we demand that the club competes on the pitch. We expect big name signings on commensurate salaries. Some of us even desire a bigger stadium to support all of that. This pricing is absolutely necessary to afford those things. It’s shit and it hurts and I sometimes hate the modern game. But they simply must generate more cash to breach that ceiling above us. We can’t have it both ways, unfortunately.

Is it fuck.

Agreed. An extra £20 a ticket is less than £1m per match - absolutely piss all in the scheme of things.

It is piss all in the scheme of things but me and MDC Jnr plan to sell back our seats to some of our home league fixtures to cover the inflated costs of CL tickets. Villa will be able to resell those seats at full price. MDC Jnr is 13 so they will sell that for whatever full price is for Lower Witton these days. I wouldn't be surprised if a few ST holders with kids do this so potentially the club will be able to improve their Income Per Seat ratio (I made that up but I expect there is something like that they look at).

Well, we wanted these things and now we have to pay for them. It just slightly baffles me where all the millions of pounds in advertising, gate receipts, TV subscriptions, merchandise sales, concession sales, sponsorship deals etc go to  - oh hang on, that'll be the players wage bill and agents fees Wont it?? - i love football, love the club but the sport is sailing worryingly close to the wind for me. The sad part is the clubs dont give a flying fuck.

So I pay my £79 pounds.
Drive to Tamebridge parkway.
Catch the crowded train to Witton, oh no that’s for away fans only.
Catch the crowed train to Aston.
Walk further to the ground.
Join the queues outside the Holte.
Wade through piss at half time.
Walk back to Witton Station, oh no see point 3.
Walk back to an overcrowded Aston station.
Get back late to Tamebridge.
Arrive home some time the following day.

This is the glamour of being back in Europe with Heck at the helm.
I understand the sentiments behind your post, but 1 point - We use Tame Bridge Parkway and we were able to get off at and back on at Witton for each of the ECL games last season.

Yes, but you have to walk all up Witton Road, along Nelson Street and along Trinity Road past the main stand to reach the Holte as the Witton Lane route is blocked off by police vans. Not Heck’s fault but adds to the underwhelming experience.

Which is ironic, given that it's 'TV' that has very much paved the way to where the game is now.

Stop being a knob!

“Why did you stab me in the leg?”

“It’s quite simple, chop your leg off and get a prosthetic one.”

By the amount they've decided to hike-up prices, we'll make additional revenue equivalent to what we sold Morgan Sanson for - a sale and income that garnered fuck-all attention from most Villa fans (not me, I loved the man, but I concede he wasn't to everyone's taste).

I'm a season ticket holder. If I don't go, they'll make more money on my seat.

A word of warning with this plan. Villa no longer resell seats until every last GA and GA+ seat has been sold, which last season didn’t happen much, if at all.

I've just read that corporate/executive members are being given maximum away points so they will be in the 1st pot for CL away tickets regardless of previous history.  This is on top of a subset of away tickets being reserved for Hospitality as they've been doing with the league aways.
Where have you read this? If it isn't an official club source it's most likely speculation and scaremongering

Yeah, it isn't true.
Thanks fuck for that, it's not just me.

Yep, if we take the figure of £20 comparing to Newcastle and Liverpool’s prices, I make it about an extra 600,000 quid gross. As you say, hardly lays a glove on FFP. 2.4 million over four games. Not that I necessarily think this is the only point to consider!

I'm told it's a new thing so wouldn't have been true last season.  I got this from a friend, his friend is corporate and got this from Villa.  So it's at least up to the usual standard of ITK on here.   I can't prove it's 100% true.

Probably is legit and from the club as there's "it will be at the sign time as general admission."
