Been going 45 years missing very few home matches but this is the breaking point for me and won't be going, it leaves such a bitter taste and I don't think at this stage I'll even follow it.

I’m sad to read this Charlie.

It’s bizarre that the lesson seems to have been learned on the domestic cup pricing, but perhaps that feels enabled by the CL hike. Seeing Newcastle & Liverpool prices brings it home, I’d certainly imagined naively it’d be the already hiked up match day Cat A prices,

My £33.83 ST price (£55 match day) more than doubling to £70,(£85 non STH)

It’ll certainly grab some headlines. Rightly so. £85/£94 to see Bologna? Will it sell out? I guess this season at least for the novelty of hearing the CL music it will, but less attractive ties if we get there again.

I do get the need to raise funds, but we come back to Charlie and many like him.
And many of us the can’t really afford it, but still might :/

Dear me, talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Tone deaf.

This is one of the failures of PSR.  It doesn't just destroy any real competition in the PL, but fans will pay the price as clubs try to compete.

I'd be surprised if Bologna sells out.

I'll probably go to Bayern and Juventus but give the other two a swerve.

When do they go on sale?

They’re on Ticketmaster now, hurry though it’s dynamic

What was the point in agreeing to buy the four tickets when you took your season ticket out? Surely you get first refusal on them anyway for games that aren't included?

So you don't have to go and book them up, they are already paid for and added. Not being able to say no to a match though it shit.

I'd always vowed to look at both prices and opposition before I made my decision and were we not playing BM, Juve and Celtic I'm not sure I would be going to anything other than the first game. I'll probably give Bologna a miss purely down to cost.

Coming so soon after the Oasis ticket thing (not that I was involved at all) it feels that gap between what the majority can afford and the cost of tickets is now becoming too wide for those wishing to attend big gigs and big matches. I've already given up on Springsteen, I still love and listen to his music but I have no value to him as a fan, it's measured purely in what I can pay. As I expected, it will happen sooner rather than later with Aston Villa, that tipping point is almost here. I'll still follow Villa, watch every game I can on TV but the thrill of attending football matches at Villa Park is being moved gradually beyond my reach.

I'm growing old and can remember travelling the country and attending every home game on a YTS wage in 87/88, now if sounds like utter fantasy.

What a fucking awful shame.

Certainly won't be going to Bologna and probably not Celtic either.

Not much of a benefit that is it? Especially when measured against the risk of the club absolutely rinsing you on the unannounced (at the point of sale) ticket prices.

I wonder if we would be as high if we had 10 to 20k more seats in out ground?

Not stating it was a good benefit, just stating a reason why ticking the box might have been worth it for some who don't have to worry on ticket prices.

Probably the same intention.  But I can imagine changing my mind when Celtic gets closer, particularly if there's anything riding on it.

For any ST holder who goes to all 4, that's a 60 quid theoretical saving.  The truth is the kick in the balls is just that little bit less severe.
