Probably 4, possibly 3, but it doesn't really matter any more.

Why is that?

Why is that?

Because we play against one team from each of the 4 pots at home and one different team from each of the 4 pots away.

Been confirmed we're in pot 4 after last night but, as above, it doesn't make much difference

The play off round starts next week for the last places in the League Phase.

The most probable pot allocations for the prospective winners are in parentheses:

Bodo/Glimt v Red Star Belgrade (Pot 3)
Dinamo Zagreb v Qarabag (Pot 3)
Dynamo Kyiv v Salzburg (Pot 3)
Lille v Slavia Prague (Pot 3)
Young Boys v Galatasaray (Pot 3)
Malmo v Sparta Prague (Pot 4)
Midtjylland v Slovan Bratislava (Pot 4)
what pot are we in?

I think we are in 4. I think the seedings in this new format are irrelevant tbh as you play two teams from each pot anyway so makes little difference

I'm on holiday 27th October to the morning of 6th November.  I'm praying for a home match on the evening of the 6th.

I'd be devastated if we were playing Real Madrid home or away whilst in mid air!

We will be entering this for the third time. There have been a couple of changes since we last played in the competiton back in 1983.
Firstly they rebranded it with an inappropriate name, many of the teams (ourselves included) are not champions in their domestic league.
In fairness, from next season it is being played more in a league format.

There will be 36 teams in a single league table instead of traditional group stages. Each team will play eight matches against eight different opponents, with four home ties and four away. The top eight sides will qualify automatically for the knockout phase, while the teams that finish ninth to 24th will play in a two-legged play-off to decide who reaches the knockouts.

Key dates.

Draw   29th August 2024

Matchday 1   17–19 September 2024
Matchday 2   1–2 October 2024
Matchday 3   22–23 October 2024
Matchday 4   5–6 November 2024
Matchday 5   26–27 November 2024
Matchday 6   10–11 December 2024
Matchday 7   21–22 January 2025
Matchday 8   29 January 2025

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but it's a pity fans haven't come up with an original Champions League song for this season rather than plagiarising the 'Is this the way to Barcelona?' one that Newcastle did last season.  Or, at least change the lyrics as Lazio are not even in the Champions League this season.   ;)

I wouldn't worry about it, we are no longer playing 'with Spinksy and Birchy, Alan McInally'.

The first time we were singing that I asked on here had we made it up or taken it from somewhere. ( I was impressed if we'd just made it up that quickly after qualifying) and the only response I got was
grumpy "why do you care" "what does it matter?!" kind of thing.

Somebody on here once posted something along the lines of '"No, Spinksy and Birchy will NOT do us fine" these days.

And everybody should have applauded.

Are we expecting a change in ticket pricing, and a new set of criteria for members hoping to get tickets for our home UCL matches..last seasons European games were very reasonably priced, surely UCL games will be a different story?

Away games are capped at £70 (might be €) by UEFA.  That might give you an idea.

Probably going to be the same as PL prices then..demand if we get Madrid/Barca/Bayern at home may get Heck thinking about a few extra seats perhaps lol...I remember Juventus in 83 and the buzz that tie created, hadn't known anything like it..
