Our success rate is better than Real Madrid's. Step aside.

Stading on regent street right now waiting for the ladies to finish in Holister. If I was Madrid or Dortmund I would enjoy it rather more. But I have that we've won it feeling all the same.
And you will very soon.

I wonder if he's still waiting outside Hollister.

More likely wandering around inside trying to find the door, those shops are so dark.

So you can't see what you're buying.

So The Times reporting that the Manchester Clubs will be allowed to play alongside their sister clubs in Europe next season, when we had to reduce our ownership to play in the Conference League last season.

I nearly fell off my chair with disbelief.  Next to those 115 charges being dealt with swiftly and robustly.

NSWE had to reduce from 46 to 29% of Vitoria. Ratcliffe owns only 27% of Manure. However NSWE had to also remove Directors from the board which is where INEOS do seem to have got away with. I wonder which one of the two clubs will have that applied to.

So UEFA are now actively trying to help teams to circumvent UEFA rules?

From the article, it seems that they are awaiting the details on what the clubs are doing. But the Times have seen a document which might say that as they have accepted a "blind trust" ownership from AC Milan last year, if the clubs show they are doing something similar they might allow it. I'm sure the business types will explain that away (and whether we had the option of doing that) but it seems they are not allowing it without some action which is what some people think is happening.

That's horseshit. There has to be a way for other clubs to appeal that..

I'd just leave Premier League clubs out of the League Cup from now on

I think I added this to an other football thread a while back but I'd just change it so the conference league place always goes to the league cup winner and then remove all the teams that are playing in Europe from it. It opens it up for more winners and reduces the pressure on teams like us to have players with 50+ appearances for the season.

In rugby there's guidance (that came from a study at Bath Uni) that players should be limited to a set amount of games and minutes over a season and that exceeding these levels leads to rapidly increasing risks of injuries. I think football needs to have a similar study because once you add in all the club competitions and international fixtures 60+ games and 4500+ minutes is not unusual and that's just not sustainable. I'd be looking at soft caps around 3500minutes and 45 games (not an outright ban from playing which could create problems but some form of mandated rest period within a set time frame). It's very easy to dismiss this because "back in day they'd play ...." thinking but we can't ignore the risks because we didn't know they existed in the past.
Yeah, when I'm king of football all teams in Europe will be banned from the league cup, but the league cup winner still gets a Conference League place. I think that'd be a huge improvement over the current state of affairs.
