I'd just leave Premier League clubs out of the League Cup from now on

Most PL clubs have only 2 chances of winning anything and this is one of them. I’d hope there’d be a majority of clubs against this but who knows?

If it didn't exist, our last honours would be in 1982. At least some of us have seen us win something.

I got just as much enjoyment at seeing those 2
wins in the 90’s as I did seeing us win the league and European Cup. It’s a major trophy in this country and should remain so.
Removing it so a few can concentrate on Europe isn’t really on.

I've always said that I don't care about the league cup and that hasn't changed. As far as I'm aware none of the other big leagues have 2 cups, I would rather just make the FA Cup more important. I think not allowing teams who are in Europe to compete and making an ECL place a reward is a decent compromise. I know it was our last last triumphs, but it's a different time now, teams play their kids until the semis, I think it has lost it's importance. That doesn't stop me from hating Phil Dowd.

This has probably been covered but is there any definitive answer to if clubs from the same country can play each other in the league stage?

My understanding is that you're not meant to but it may be necessary for associations with more teams (like England) to avoid deadlocking. I think it would be a maximum of one team from the same association.

The draw has to be done by computer because it is so complicated. Easily fixed for the conspiracy theorists out there.

I think I read somewhere that if they tried to do the draw manually then it would take over 4 hours. I’m a lover of overblown UEFA suited nonsense as the next man but over 4 hours!!

It would also get very complicated very fast with teams drawing against each other from the same pots.

I read the same thing, they said not only would it take 4 hours, they'd need 900 balls.

100% disagree. Ark at us, turning our nose up at the only trophy we've won in over 40 years.

I went to one of the fan zones in London today, just round the corner from home. There's a giant inflatable Champions League trophy, and I certainly wasn't going to miss the opportunity to rock up in my 82 replica shirt for a few photos.
Place was bustling with Madrid and Dortmund fans, and the usual array of tourists from all over the world. There is nothing better for this Villa fan's soul, than having a whole bunch of people point at the claret lion rampant on your chest and say congratulations.
The giant is awake, and it's getting noticed all over the planet.

I bet Paul Lambert is hanging around the Dortmund fans, hoping people talk to him about how he won the CL with them.

Has anyone asked when the draw is yet?

If not, when is the draw?
