We're in. Girona first for me please!
You took a chance there mate, starting the thread at 9.56 when there were still 3 minutes of added time left. Didn't you fear that the extra-ordinary, sensational goal machine that Ange has assembled will rip through mancity and score 3 goals?

By the way the Ange's team has scored only one more goal than Conte's.
I am one hour ahead in France, the game had long finished. ;-)
I must apologies for my lack of education. Can I call upon you in future before I place bets?

From the award last night.
It will make you smile, and laugh and maybe get some dust in your eye.
Excellent. Thanks a lot for posting. Yeah a little dust in the eyes..
Up the Villa.

That's brilliant. Who's the presenter? Looks like Purslow in a dress!

The presenter is Katharine Merry, Olympic medalist and the fastest woman in the world over 400m in 2001, who is a Villa fan, is clearly a warm and confident MC, looks lovely in her dress and does not remotely resemble Mr Purslow!

Yes, how crude olaf. Kath was a great host (as was Jase from the BBC, we must pay well - though I expect him to give us more discussion time on "Final Score" on Saturday afternoons going forward).

Remember when we wanted English teams to do well in Europe this season to help with the coefficient for the team finishing 5th?  Strange days.

Translation:

It's not Sánchez-Pizjuán, it's Birmingham. John McGinn starred in an epic moment in Aston Villa's historic celebration of getting their ticket to the next Champions League. The captain of the villains, with beer in hand, started singing... the anthem of the Centenary of Seville! The reason goes beyond the relationship that now unites the English team with the Seville team after the arrival of Monchi, Unai Emery and Diego Carlos at Villa Park. McGinn's grandfather was president of the Scottish FA when Juande Ramos's Sevilla won their second Europa League in Glasgow. That night in May 2007, the protagonist of this story fell madly in love with the anthem during the final against Espanyol. Such was his impression that he continued watching videos and ended up learning, in his own way, the lyrics of El Arrebato.

We clearly need to push for a play off system for the title.

Wouldn't take much to change the words to "The Villa, the Villa, the Villa", not sure about the rest of it though.
Interesting that Emery insisted on all his players learning this song, maybe we can ask that they learn the words to My Old Man

Probably more chance of getting Betis fans to sing 'Shit on Sevilla...'

Thought I'd take a look at how we measured up against the other clubs who were in contention for the Champions League - to see how far behind we are. Presumed that we'd have a lot of catching up to do.

The mini league below is based on this season’s head to head games.

Premier League Top 5 Mini - league
               P   W   D   L   F    A   GD  PTS
Villa        8    4   1   3  10  15  -5   13
Arsenal  8    3   2   3  10    9  +1   11
City         8    2   4   2  11    8  +3   10
Pool        8    2   4   2  15  13  +2   10
Spurs      8    2   3   4  16  17  -1     9
