I lived in Paris for a couple of years back in the day. It's manky, miserable, the Metro stinks, the architecture all looks the same, and the locals are po-faced twats.

London's much better.

Agreed. We (me and the missus) didn’t like it much.

London IS much better. New York better still.

Birmingham’s the only one I could write a couple of books about. I’m so lucky to live here.

Went three years ago to watch PSG v Marseille. Great city, grounds a dump
and rather moody around there. If it’s of interest you can get single tickets in the home end on their secondary market site, link on psg website, for €265. Pairs start from €550 odd though.
Yeah, reckon these are going to be the only seats that will come available to the general public. I understand STH can purchase up to 2 seats per ST, and given there are 37k STH, that will easily mop up the difference between the number of STH and ground capacity.

Was keeping an eye on the site yesterday and you could see all the STH piling in. By the evening, many of those tickets were available on the ticket exchange site. For some STH then, it’s a way of lowering their ST cost over the year.

However, the resale site is an “bourse” type affair, so the price is set freely by the vendor and will fluctuate with demand. Between yesterday and today, the starting price went from 350e to about 220e this morning. Might be worth waiting a few days to see how that stabilises. Have mentally factored in a price of 200e that I could swallow. Any more than that and the fam are saying that the best option is to take them away to a 5-star hotel spa and buy a very large TV… :)

If it is anything like Bruges the price will go down as the game approaches. There is quite a large fee though of 45 euros - not sure if that is per ticket or per transaction.

My feeling too, Jon. Though I noticed today that some of the cheaper ones - around 210e, 220e - seem to have gone (or the vendors put the price up, considering they were too cheap).

Fee seems to be per ticket.

Looking forward to this one but already nervous for the game.  Going on the Eurostar and staying in the Montmartre area.
Nice, very handy for Pigalle. A leisurely walk up and down Boulevard de Clichy would be worthwhile🙈

Maybe someone here could confirm, but I think the Villa fans will be in nord est 101 and 102. So am thinking 103 or 104 (category 10) keeps you near enough - not exactly sure of the geography mind, it could be above the Villa fans.

Paris is ace.

It really is. I absolutely loved my time there.

The metro (aka the poo tube) does smell but the city itself, within the ring road* is lovely.  Some of the suburbs are very rough though.

* the ring road actually goes under the parc des Princes

Really like the areas between Bastille and Gare Du Lyon , some great bars and restaurant / cafes around here and the food is fabulous. It's a great city .

So we are in the 1/4finals up agains PSG and with the prospect of possibility facing RM in the semifinals and Barca in the final. This woudnt be belived if someone told this before Emery arrived. It is the wildest dream from a couple of years back coming through. Given such perspectives this is an incredible place to be. Whatever happens from here this acihvement stands as something not happened since 82? and together with else happening at the club gives bright prospects for future. Digne / Ramsey adventuring down the left .. and it must be , it is Watkins ..

What are PSG saying about us? Dismissive or wary?
Tuned into L’Equipe.tv yesterday, chat show affair with Djibril Cissé and a few pundits.

Definitely dismissive is the answer. Their recollections of us are mostly from the Lille away game last year, where we were considered fortunate against a plucky team (fair enough, really), plus Emery/Asensio subplots. They don’t seem to know us well. Cissé couldn’t remember if he’d scored at Villa Park (answer: yes, twice). He did pay tribute to the atmosphere at Villa Park, but suggested it would be easier to handle than Anfield.

I wouldn’t quite go as far as to say they view us in the same way as we currently look at PNE (there’s a lesson in there), but it’s not a million miles away. PSG have a bit of the old City image about them, as in a propensity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. So there’s a bit of talk along the lines of, wouldn’t it be typical of PSG to have done the hard work (Liverpool) and then make a mess of it against lowly Aston Villa.

Usual caveats about being wary of dark horses, etc., but that didn’t mask the overall feeling of superiority.

Viewpoint confirmed in chats out and about. The common refrain is, “but have you seen our team?”

It seems to escape them that only one of the two teams has previously held the ultimate trophy aloft.

Have ST holders had any issues buying their own seats for this? I'm a member and the website is telling me it is sold out. This is in contrast to Brugge where I could go in and view seat availability prior to my window opening.
