Why would we spend £60m+ on Ferguson given he's the same age as Duran, and Duran has arguably shown more for us than Ferguson has for Brighton?

Unless Watkins is going we don't need a striker. We need an advanced playmaker.

Longer time goes, less I think we're getting anyone else in.

Out : Diego Carlos and Donck.

In: Gertie (on a permanent deal) and a supporting striker.

Geertruida is the one I think we'll push for this week.

Cash looks like he'll be injured for a few weeks and struggling to make our first CL game.

It was interesting on Saturday we put on Ned instead of Diego and just moving Kons to RB so clearly given we're one down in the CB department from 12 months back there's more of a desire to keep Konsa as a CB this year rather than shifting him around from game to game.

Geertruida ticks plenty of boxes as strong RB who can move into central midfield and also cover as CB if needed so wouldn't shock me at all if we sign him on transfer deadline day.

He looks bang on the profile we need.  We feel like we're at a bit of a cross roads right now, where unlike in the past owners have held us back, right now rules etc are holding us back, which is very frustrating. To get to the next level we need a couple of players that can kick on to top 4-5 in their position in the country/ Europe but we're a bit away from being able to get them. Heck is clearly trying, but Villa Park is going to be a big problem in years to come.

I think it’s going to be difficult to move Dendonker on because no one wants him
Even if he’s free to a good home he’s probably on reasonable wages more than other clubs think he’s worth

Wolves could have him back. They need a defensive midfielder.

Well to bwgin with you dont know its 60m they want for him dave. Before his injury he was looking like the biggest prospect in football since kane. That talent does not go away.

Duran the basketcase you mean? All it takes is i dont know palace for example making a bid us rejecting it and then he throws another tantrum. Duran wont be here in next 18-24 i predict. Ferguson is a long term signing and if i was a betting man has a more successful career than duran. He is going to be class in the next few years.

Rumours are brentford want him as toneys replacement

If he's going to be as good as you say he is and the next Kane, then yep they might well want up to £60m.

Don't think we'll be signing anyone on a permanent deal at this point.

We might look at defensive cover for Cash/ the CBs.

But that's about it.

I think the level of player you’re talking about is what we need to step up to challenging for the league and in Europe. I think our next step is trying to establish ourselves at the level we’re currently at for a year or two before those players become available to us financially or because that calibre of player see us a reliable champions league club.

I think we’ll be in the mix again for top 4 but, as the tail end of last season showed, the level of consistency to get there is really hard to maintain.

Thats us just speculating though.  They may want 40m upwards who knowa its for the clubs to know. But id rather have him than duran if he is over his injury troubles. He would be amazing for us

Isn't saying they may want £40m upwards speculating as well?

Seems like we’re constrained by Donk & Carlos hanging around, or more specifically their unamortised fees and big wages. Gerrard cast a long shadow.
