We’ve lost goals from Luiz and Diaby and haven’t replaced that threat in front of goal.
Ramsey may score a few and maybe Roger’s but it’s a big risk if we don’t get someone in before the window closes.

Onana looks like he'll get a few

Seems like we’re constrained by Donk & Carlos hanging around, or more specifically their unamortised fees and big wages. Gerrard cast a long shadow.
Yeah, FFP seems to make it increasingly important to get transfers right. Every club has to be a bit more constrained, so if you buy a dud you’re going to be stuck with them for the length of their contract, and worse their wages and amortisation means there’s no going out and buying a replacement, at least not without selling your better players.

A couple from corners/free kicks maybe from open play I think we are short, especially going into the CL.

He was an inch away from scoring on Saturday again, from open play .

But didn’t. I noticed the when Roger’s went on one of his many runs he was looking up and there was nothing in front of him.
It’s very early days but we need those runners to stretch defences when we counter attack. Onana isn’t a replacement for Diaby or Luiz and won’t be that type of midfielder. When we play the top teams in Europe we need that extra bit of quality.
We’ll probably have to go with what we’ve got but currently we need an attacking midfielder/wide forward. We can’t expect Bailey
to play every game so hopefully Philogene steps up.

It’s stupid as his record is phenomenal, wasn’t last season the first time he hasn’t won a league title in his career, but he’s never really impressed me.

Yeah, and it’s no good cutting your losses when you’re really close to the limit, as any outstanding fee as yet unamortised will go down as a loss in the accounts. That could mean turning down say £8m for Carlos for instance, because we need £13m to avoid it registering as a £5m loss. Very restrictive if you’re looking to cut the wage bill.

Barcelona not taking up the option of €20 million for Joao Cancello.
