I've said this before but my main worry when it seemed Felix was our main target was the idea that it would drag on too long and we'd miss out on other targets while waiting for him, and then not get him either.

We don't know exactly what went on between us and them in regards to Felix, but we were heavily linked with several players earlier in the window and they all went cold or ended up elsewhere, and now he's gone to Chelsea, and we don't seem to have anything else in the pipeline.

I think we have improved our squad from last season, to the point we have players who can't even get on the bench, but is the depth there for a European campaign, maintaining top 4, and coping with the inevitable injuries.

The areas that still stand out for me are RB, an upgrade on Diego Carlos at CB and a number 10 who can also play out wide if needed.  I think we'd be pretty much set then.

Rogers came from nowhere, I'd rather 2 more of those signings than Felix etc . Trust the management.

I'm not saying I wanted Felix etc. just that we may have missed out on other signings, including another potential Rogers, simply because the plan was to blow our wad on Felix.

Have we? The main one I can think of is Baena, but he’s still at Villareal. Alternatively Williams but that was never realistic.

Are you thinking of any particular players?

I see a clickbait link for Barrenechea to Lazio on loan this morning, although they need to get rid of a couple to make room for him.  Can't see it myself, unless Dendonker stays.

Evan ferguson apparently isnt in brightons plans. Id definitely take him here. He has huge potential. He reminds me of kane.

Thus far he appears made of glass but if he gets and stays fit he looks a real talent

Yeah he has a JJ injury style campaign last year. But if he can get back to fitness he is a real talent

Surprised by that, because selling now would be way below his ceiling value.

I suppose Kamara’s recovery means Donk would only be covering a few months and he’s (probably) more likely to hit the ground running compared to a kid.  I think a loan would be a good deal as Barrenchea needs games at his age.

I predict Kamara will be our PRS sale next summer, so barrenchea having a full season at a lazio size club would be beneficial.

Do you think we’ll need a PSR sacrificial lamb next season? The rules will have moved to the salary cap methodology and we’ll have increased revenue

I cannot see how we can bridge the revenue gap without some sales.  However they’d be at our discretion rather than forced upon us hopefully.
So if no one offers us the requisite fee for Kamara it’s possible that a ‘fattened’ up Barrachea is sold instead.

The above is also what Monchi does best.  Sell high and already have the replacement in the camp, so you’re less likely to get fleeced replacing them.

 Re Ferguson from Brighton.
They did really well last season and before shifting players out for good money and bringing in cheaper replacements, but look to have gone on a bit of a spending spree this summer. Not sure where that leaves them re PSR, but a Bid for Ferguson might be accepted - assuming he fits into our shape/formation and playing style.

Why would we spend £60m+ on Ferguson given he's the same age as Duran, and Duran has arguably shown more for us than Ferguson has for Brighton?

No. Just a general thought I've had since it seemed we were prioritising Felix. And now there's only a few days left and any and all links have dried up.

I don't think links mean that much really.
