Apparently they want £40m for Chukwuemeka.

In that case Durán should be £60m

Surely no one is stupid enough to pay that. Double the fee they signed him for with a big injury and one league goal?

How is he worth anywhere near that ?

They've brought in about half a billion (not an exaggeration) in player sales in the last four years. They've spent far more, but the rules allow for that. Given their huge squad, they'll have no problem selling again staying within the rules in future seasons.

Hmm not so sure about that. They paying hige wages on long term contracts. I cant see alot of clubs paying the same wages which means chelsea will have to either pay part of their wages or are stuck with them.

Barring palmer who else has gone up in value ?

Maybe Maduweke

Pretty poor 2 players out of 50 odd. This is why their bubble is going to burst at some stage

Significantly different to ours since Emery took over. Struggle to recoup fees on Gerrards older signings. Other than that wouldn't even like to think of the increase in value

Emi - minimum 3 times
Konsa - 4 times
Ollie - 2.5 - 3 times
McGinn - 15-20 times.
Kamara. Ramsey and Tielemans huge mark ups as no initial outlay.
Bailey - probably double
Rogers - already 4-5 times

Getting on for half a billion uplift

He’s a bit like a lower grade Felix. Terrible career choice with first move and now he’s in a tough spot.

So someone has got to pay £40m to sign him, and then pay him at least £110k a week (unless he's taking a pay cut to move).

I can't see many teams able to do that, never mind any actively WILLING to do it!

I’ve always thought Duran being valued at c.£40m in this market is nuts. His potential is massive and he already scores plenty. His attitude is his potential issue, but on pure football ability he could be sensational. The movement and finish on Saturday was top class.

I wouldn't be surprised if someone like Fulham come in for Duran.

this is the flaw with there strategy - it doesn't work if there players lose value (which most have done).  Instead they sit on huge contracts, and only a very small number of clubs can afford to buy them - let alone want to buy them

I hope he stays - hell get plenty of football and I don't see us replacing him with anyone better.

Realistically anyone where he will start every week should be queuing up. But I would we don’t consider selling. He’s clearly going to perform when he does play and he’s a hell of an option.

Their best bet is to sell him to Chelsea ... Oh wait....

I'd take him back for five million. On the basis next season's Chelsea manager might buy him back for twenty million again.

Think it was Neville who made the point earlier that the Chelsea goalkeeper looked nervous yesterday...and when you know you've got 5 other keepers all wanting your spot, and you're possibly one mistake away from being dropped and being left on the sidelines like the other 5, it's not hard to see why.

They had to extend their changing facilities last season. I wonder if there's room to extend it again, or whether you risk getting a call not to show up to training because there's not enough space.
