The Brighton away game (0-1) is one that sticks in my mind and reminds me why Konsa should only play RB as a very last resort .

Man city and Arsenal at home as a counter punch, Arsenal away for that matter. Anyone can pick games to try and prove their point.

I mainly think we gained loads with Pau coming in but lost loads without Mings. The konsa RB discussion is a but of a red herring

Konsa was roasted at RB in the Arsenal home game! Cash had to come on in that game too and from memory improved us immediately. There were more, West Ham, Everton, Spurs come to mind. One of those key Euro games, maybe Ajax away, he had an absolute nightmare at RB too. I just think there's a narrative that, limitations with the ball aside, he's solid defensively anyway at RB, I really don't think he is.

I thought Konsa/Torres worked fine in the main in the first half of the season, our high offside line was working brilliantly and Torres distribution through the lines was elite. He used to combine really well with Luiz too. Torres wasn't the same player after his injury though and his form collapsed by the end of the season. Kamara's injury obviously was a blow but having to play with Carlos a lot meant that we had two centre backs who couldn't turn. So I think Konsa moving back to CB is key for us. We might have even more reliance on Torres playmaking ability with Luiz gone and Kamara out.

It's funny as Mings is everything Torres isn't, he's quick and physically dominant. I'm hoping Onana gets stuck in at set piece time as without Mings we are very vulnerable. He certainly surprised me with some of his play with the ball after Emery came in. But I don't see him starting at West Ham, the fact he didn't even go to the US does seem a bit worrying.

He did go to the US, he's just chilling with his family instead of training his quads off in that American heat, wise choice.

For Ty and his family, it's a party in the U.S.A.

66 mins Konsa was replaced by Cash . Arsenal A first half was fairly hairy aswell though 2nd half was night and day especially once Emery made a few tweaks

Yes Steve67 mentioned some thing last night.
Linked with Kalvin Phillips by the clickbait brigade.  Loan deal.

I do wonder if any truth though as do need some further experience and depth. It could be a case of Onana, Barkley and Phillips to replace Douglas Luiz!
At the end of day Philips has champions league experience and international experience.

I see their local ITK Yorkshire Post has suggested it's a loan deal

The origin of the Phillips story came from Football Insider yesterday evening.

If those pricks reported that water was wet, I would have to check twice.

Stock-piling central midfielders sucks. Let's not.

Talk of us seducing Sergi Roberto like a bunch of no-good hussies;

Footy will be pleased.
It's a sign !
Sergio Roberto forever known for scoring the winning goal in la Remontada!
Champions League a 6-1 Win against Emery PSG to win win 6–5 on aggregate!
And now he could play for Emery at Villa in the Champions League- you cannot make it up !
