Everton fans thoughts on the forums are mixed. Some saying never kicked on, didn't want to be here, backwards- sideways passer nothing else, 34yr Gana Gueye is better, headless chicken, less than 5 good games in 2 years...

They're gutted he's gone.

£50M isn't a lot in todays money . Also can't judge a player until they have been coached for a few months by Emery .

It's a lot for a player who cost £35 million 2 years ago and hasn't improved or stood out ( albeit in a poor Everton team ). In say the 15 odd games Everton have been on TV in those 2 years I have never seen anything from Onana to make me think I wish you were at Villa. Doucoure at times yeah but not Onana.

Of course I hope he will be class for us but. I never really rated Tielemans and nothing changed my mind when he played the first dozen games for us. Hold my hands up and glad to be proved wrong though as I thought he was possibly our best midfielder the second half of the season.

Onana is exactly the sort of signing we need.  Tall, gets around the pitch well, a danger in oppo boxes and defensively sound in ours.  We seem to be building pace and height quite nicely.  I don't care what the Toffee fans think about him, he will be improved by Unai.  For me, best signing this summer for Villa so far. A big part of the jigsaw puzzle to help other players do their thing.

Is he (Onana) not a regular in the Belgium side ?

Jordan Henderson and Kalvin Phillips were regulars for England...what's your point? Did you watch Belgium over the last few years at tournments....awful.

I refuse to believe anybody who isn't an Everton fan has watched them of their own volition when Villa aren't playing them. You might be into S&M but surely you're not that extreme.

So basically you are a poor judge of character and he’s going to be great for us

Given that is what we paid for Diaby, surely you're expecting the best player in the world?

Same amount of interceptions as McGinn and Kamara.

Joint 50th for blocks, same as Eriksen, Marv.

18th for Tackles. Highest Villa players were McGinn and Luiz 32nd and 33rd but he's played fewer minutes.

We were shipping goals willy nilly without Kamara so he's going to help in that regard. We also conceded plenty from corners so should help there too.

I wanted Palhinha who was the best DM in the league imo, cheaper but older.

He's a highly rated player. Arsenal and Bayern Munich wanted him too.

We've got some steel and strength in depth now.

When you look at what happened last season, when we had players out, we're doing some great work in providing cover.

Love this deal.

Absolutely not. Instead I acted as a shrink for Evertonians in work who would explain to me in detail most Mondays why they were shite.
