🚨 Douglas Luiz has made it known to his entourage, & indirectly to Juventus, that he is open to a move — a fundamental first ‘yes’.

I read that. It's very noncommittal.

This feels like media recognising they're getting lots of clicks and spitting out Jackanory consumption. They haven't got the money.

Social media have just popped up a Bailey and Dougie image too.

I just struggle to see that they’ll cough up the type of fee we’d be looking for.

Do Juventus have a women's team? What does Alicia make of it all?

Maybe they will try to pay with a fleet of Fiat 500's.

And does Dougie really want to move Alicia to a country full of flirtatious Italian men, and Monty?

Sorry to be a pedant here  but can we stop saying that money in for one player gives PSR room to buy several. It does, but only if you dont mind not buying anyone else next year and the year after that. If we get, say, £60m for Luiz we could, in theory spend £240m on players with 4 year contracts at £60m per year. But where do we get next year's £60m from and the one after that? It is no different from buying on a credit card. Seems good when you are in Currys carting off a 72inch telly, not so good when you are still paying for it in a couple of years and the latest model is better than yours.

No it's fine, we just buy one lot of players from Kays catalogue and then another from Littlewoods, they never have to know.

If DL is smart (or more likely his agent) he'll use any interest from other clubs to get a better deal with us.

When he signed his last extension he wasn't even a guaranteed starter.

The Douglas Luiz of 2024 is - after Martinez - prob our most important player. And just played a key role in us securing CL football. Any new deal should reflect that.

It would also give us a chance to increase any release fee if there is one.

Most likely outcome IMO

Italian men AND women.

I think it’s starting to make sense - if Doug were to leave Gallagher does drive through the midfield in a similar way.
