"Roll up, roll up. Who would like to offer us tens of millions of pounds to take on the wages of this doofus who is rinsing us for a million pounds a month to stroll around Old Trafford as we lose to Bournemouth? Going once..."

Right. Like I reckon they could probably shift most of them if they were willing to take a massive financial hit, but they're probably not willing to do that, and most of the players won't take massive wage cuts either, so I look forward to seeing how it all plays out.

I would imagine there are some they will be perfectly happy taking a hit on, just to get them off the wage bill. Sancho and Anthony immediately spring to mind.

But they could also make decent money (and FFP profit) on the likes of Rashford and Fernandes (who only has 12 months of his original contract length left, so anything above £10m would be FFP profit).

I still don't think there will be wholesale changes there, I just think this is them saying "we're not particularly attached to any of these players".

There's an article on BBC saying Man U are open to offers for pretty much their entire squad. Garnacho, Mainoo and Hoijland the only ones they don't want rid of.

I don't want any of them here but it'll be interesting to see if they can actually shift any of them.

Apparently Casemiro (according to Capology, which I believe has some credibility) is on 350k a week.

Jesus fucking Christ.

I still like Rashford. He cops a lot of stick but he's a quality player. He'd want stupid wages though.

Yeah but then again, I've seen quite a lot of this from him this season

I know what you mean, he needs to get out of there, it would be tempting at the right money but it never will be.

I don't think we should be taking players on as rehab projects, but I'd imagine Villa under Emery would be the ideal club for a lot of players to get themselves back on track, if it's something they really wanted. There'd definitely be wage cuts involved though.

I'd take Scott McTominay as a backup midfield option, and to stop him scoring against us.

Jesus fucking Christ.

I watched that Back Pages Tonight thing on SSN just and one of the journos on there said Rashford’s on £325k a week.

That’s the figure I’ve seen given a few times, when he signed a new contract after his thirty goals last season.

Yep, they’ll be paying him that for a few years yet, one way or another. I can’t see anyone digging them out of that hole.

Rashford needed to move 2 years ago. He's trapped now, as much as they are with him. Saudi money might get him out, but the reality is he's a £100k a week player, not a £350k a week player.

In our squad McTominay would probably do pretty well as a number 8 option and McGinn loves him. Beyond that, Dallot is a good player and Garnacho is going to be a superstar, but they won't let either of them go. I don't rate Kobe Mainoo (apparently it's law you have to say both his names) as highly as the press seem to do so.

Villa need 2 midfield bodies and a right back upgrade this summer, all with a bit of quality, and then to get players back fit. A wide midfield option (not necessarily a winger) that's got a bit of grit defensively and a decent final ball going forward, happy to rotate in and out of games etc would be great. A 22 year old Milner if you like. We miss a body like that in midfield that can do about 6 roles all pretty well. Sure us up on 60, start tight games we need to dig in, but have the quality to get a few assists etc. Monchi must know one.

I like McTominay and think he could be a useful option but with his likely wages, desire to be a first teamer and the fact he turns 28 in December probably makes it unlikely.
